Balls, that's my old one, I had a little shuffle...

Here's mine, too young to know/remember some great players.

Loving K3VO's modern version of this, looks like an awesome team too.

Seen a lot of teams with Cafu & R Carlos in so far. Interestingly Eusebio but no Pele.

Went for the classic 3-2-4-1

I was extremely tempted by Eusebio too but I couldn't ignore Maradona's '86 contribution.

Also just realized all of my squad have won a World Cup.

Decided to use players i've actually seen play but not any current ones.



Probably should have had Maradona instead of Baggio but i can't stand him.

I was going to compile a Susie World Cup Dream Team but Klose, Pele, Eusebio and Maradona all have 3 votes each, we need some more participants to try and get clearer results.

The most votes for a single player was Ronaldo with 7

Maradona doesn't have enough votes. Not only is he the greatest ever but from a strictly World Cup standpoint, he more or less won one all by himself.

And seriously, I'm the only one to vote for Cruyff?

The problem with Cruff is he's classed as a forward on this. In my team that would mean cutting out one of...

Ronaldo: Top scorer in the whole history of the tournament.

Pele: Only player to win 3 World Cups and regarded as one of the greatest ever, if not the greatest.

Maradona: Carried an average Argentina through to a World Cup win and a final. In my team alone for '86.

Also I would have a tough time placing Crujff ahead of Gerd Muller simply because of Muller goals.

If he was a midfielder I would have put him above Rivelino.

Aye, some of the restrictions bugged me too. I wanted five at the back with Beckenbauer behind Maldini and Baresi, when that didn't work my desire to keep a moderately realistic formation kept me from picking Zidane over Dunga.

Same for me, I think they should have made it possible to select a player then a possible position for them (e.g. sweeper, centre back, striker etc) Then the selector works out the formation you've set.

Maybe even a little pitch showing where your players play would've been cool too.

I went only with players who've I've actually seen play at a World Cup.

Hard to justify Cruyff when he only played in one World Cup and didn't win. When there's Pele, Maradona, plus guys like Hurst, Charlton and Muller who've had incredible World Cup's.

The problem with Cruyff was he came up against an excellent West Germany side with the likes of Breitner, Overath, Beckenbauer & Muller. Had they won that one final game he might be in more people's teams.

And I totally agree it's hard to put in someone when the likes of Ronaldo, Pele, Maradona et al have played in numerous World Cups and won too.
