I'm not sure this is necessarily an improvement, since his appearance is similar to the current cutout, and his face isn't looking straight at the camera.

It isn't a bad source, but it does need sharpening (the photographer's camera settings probably weren't great or didn't focus correctly). This might make for a better cutout:
As I've said before though, a cutout suffers in quality if the image isn't sharp. Try to take care that your final cutout isn't less blurry than the source you cut
I don't remember which image software you use, but there are free programs like focusmagic you could try for blurry sources that might help, or I could PM more specific advice.

If you find images like that in the future, where trying to open it in a new tab tries to download an "empty" file that doesn't have an extension, you can usually just add ".jpg" (or ".png" etc) like this to save it as a proper image

@Parker26 Which source image did you use? Compared to the current cutout, the one you uploaded is quite blurry.

@katalonczyk22 This cutout and this one have squashed/stretched image dimensions. Remember to constrain the image aspect ratio when you're resizing them.

Unfortunately they haven't uploaded a good quality version. I enlarged the small size logo from their website with waifu2x, hopefully that's good enough.

@snow_uk this source isn't large enough for an improvement over the current cutout. Read this thread for finding useful sources before making requests, and follow the below rules for improvement requests:

1. The bigger and clearer the image, the better.
2. Ideally, the person is looking at the camera and has a clear background.
3. Unless necessary, avoid action images.
4. Just because a source image is more recent than that in the MP does not automatically mean it's an improvement. It's better to have a slightly older image in the MP if it is of better quality.
5. Ask yourself, is it really an improvement to the existing MP image? If it's the same face and hairstyle with just this season's new kit, it's probably just an alternative.

@cunex99 Not a bad cutout, especially as the source image was poorly pre-cut with lots of leftover snow and parts of the face/hair partially transparent, but a couple of things to point out: when the face as at an angle like this source image, you should rotate it slightly so that the face is upright in the cutout. Additionally, your cutout should be brightened a little bit. I've recut the source image with these issues addressed @mons
