Hi all.

The Metallic logo project is in a bit of trouble 🤷‍♂️. @Skywalker is no longer making updates due to not having time any more. This means that we are way behind in making updates. We are still missing one update from fm21, that should have been part of the last update. It covers the requests made from 05 sept until 22 oct.

My role in this project has always been of a more administrative nature, since we picked up from where @kremmen left off. My part in this project was meant to be temporarily, but 2 years has now gone by. My role right now is to check the updates for any wrong ids and upload the updates to the site server. Unfortunately I don't have time to collect and cut all the requests, and if no one volunteers to help out this project will come to a dead end 😢.

So what is it I (we) need help with? Well first of all I would very much like to get the last update from fm21 made, and I need help collecting and cutting the requests. If the logos are cut right and sorted in the right folders (club, comp, nation, ect.), then I can very quickly make them metallic by using the action file combined with the “batch” function in photoshop.

Going forward I think we need to get more people involved in the process of making updates. We have now in two years gone through two people who have made the updates by them selfs, First @Armagedon_55 and then @Skywalker . I think it is fair to say that making one update a month is way to time consuming for one person and they quickly burn out. So please write here or PM if you are interested in being part of this wonderful project. I still haven't figured out how to organise it, if many people want to help out, but lets first see if any one volunteers.

Sorry but I can't remove the logo from the pack, but I can remove the logos from the configs so they don't show in game 👍

I believe that if you push the little red button in the top right corner you can choose different settings for backgrounds in your skin 👍 

@mons Eventhough the new cut is great quality I'm pretty sure the picture is older than the previous cut.

@Footygamer I've done some investigation and here is what I've found:

There is a lot of indexed color pictures in the faces folder, but far from all. In the icon faces folder it is almost all that are indexed color. Despite searching online I've haven't found a way to search and identify indexed color picture within the folders (only way I can search is by manually looking at each picture in game). So I'm not going to spend hours and hours finding every indexed color picture😕.

I've come across another problem: some of the iconfaces that are indexed color have also lost there transparency.

some examples:  2002040995,  2001040995, 2000147332 (I've no idea of how big this problem is, as I have only done a small sample)

I've found a way to fix the conversion from indexed color to RGB in my own game: it is very easy to do in photoshop and I've set up a small “action” file so that photoshop converts all files in the folder(s) (batch function in photoshop) also them that are already RBG because I've not found a way to identify the indexed color files. This will properly take my computer a day or so to convert all 342.158 (x2) files, but all I have to do is use the batch function with the action and then just wait 😀.

That only leaves the problem with the iconfaces that have lost transparency. I have no solution to that.

Believe it or not but I sometimes open my FM16 to play a savegame that I'm rather fond of😀. I've always updated my faces without any problems (but it has been over a year since I last took a look at my FM16 save). But I've now run in to the same problem you (@jcwolf ) described. I've figured out what the problem is. The color mode is “wrong” on the pictures that shows up strange in older versions of the game. The color mode is set to “indexed color” and not “RBG color”. For some reason almost all of the icon faces are that way. I really think it is a shame that this beautiful pack is no longer compatible with older versions of fm (before fm21 i think). Perhaps there is an easy fix, perhaps it is something we just will have to accept 🤷‍♂️ .

@Seabass65 Moved your 2 submissions to the right place (and deleted 2). Stadiums submissions are submitted under stadium name or id. In this case “ibrox stadium” or “102642” not just stadium, that is just a random stadium in the database called stadium!

There are several free online tools to remove watermarks from pictures. Just use google and search for “remove watermark” and find one that works for you. You can also use photoshop… search on how to remove watermark with photoshop and you will find several videos. Well it is hard to say… In most cases we accept almost anything close to the guidelines if no pictures exists in the pack already (most important thing is that proportions are kept when up or down scaling). If there are a picture already in the pack we usually only accept submissions that are of equal or higher quality. Hope that makes sense.

@zigmmund I've moved your submission to the right place. Stadiums (both inside and background) are submitted under stadium id or name, and not under club id or name.

@Footygamer The button does not link to the correct page. It links to “in progress” and in pack “any”. That means all that are in “progress”. The right link is “in progress” and in pack “in pack”. Hope that make sense 😀. Perhaps that makes it possible to add count 🤷‍♂️

Update 2022.01 is now live and available to download 😀

Great 😀👍 for the sake of symmetri could you switch the places of “view all packs” and the new “packs images in progress” button. That way the “submissions” and “packs” looks alike  😀, and hopefully at some point in the future the count will be added to the new button 😀.

I think it would be nice to have both for the “cut out” and “background” submission system. So you quickly can see how many is in progress and so you don't forget about them 👍

Well the competitions logos should work. Since you are a premium member I will suggest that you delete what you have and download the full pack and install that. This time using chrome so you can resume any interruptions in the download to make sure you get the full file.  

@Toñín2009 This is all wrong…. on many levels 🤷‍♂️. The picture is stretched (always keep proportions), meaning you need to make the picture bigger and cut away stuff instead of stretching the picture to make it fit. But if this is the only picture you could find then it is better to have no picture at all 👍  

That is because almost all of these ID are wrong or from a custom database. Every update is checked for wrong id's, and anything not in the default database is filtered out. I can see that some of the teams has been added to FM22 database. So please make new request and make sure only to include things (clubs, comps, etc) that are actually in the default database. you can check here:   https://sortitoutsi.net/search/database

Well you have the pack in the right place and your settings seems right. The most common problem is that you have not gotten the full file when downloading. Delete what you have and download the complete torrent (2022.01) and make sure you get the full file before installing it. If you don't wont to use the torrent then you can use chrome to download the full pack as it has the option to resume any interruptions in your download making sure you get the full file.

Well It has its pros and cons. This pack can be used on any version of the game, and the vast majority of logos will also show up the right places in any version. But some id's change from version to version (clubs merging or going bankrupt and new competitions created and so on), so using FM22 version on FM21 will cause a few logo to show up in the wrong place. But like 99% of the of the game has the same id's and therefore the logo will show up just right. Also you will have some logo in your pack that is not part of your game (new clubs and competitions), But that will not affect your game in any way. Hope that answers your question.

(two pictures and two entries in the config with the first one having a space (or a -) at the end so the game does not read the right one)

The solution is to remove the wrong one (both from face and iconfaces) from the folder before making the config, and make sure there is no space at the back of the remaining picture 😀

 Otherwise you just copy the logo from your “normal” or “team” folder in nations to your normal folder in flag. Mexico id=379 

Well what I can see from the screenshot you seems to have two logo folders. One in graphics and one in pictures. Actually the picture folder is not necessary. So could you try and cut and paste everything from the picture folder to your graphics folder, and see if that does the trick?

Well that requires a bit of detective work then 🤨. First of all… are you completely sure you have extracted the pack to the right place?
