The main purpose of that workaround is for people who did NOT have the editor data file in place when they started the new game. Using that method, they would get the club name changes in their save game.

If you had the club name changes editor data files in place when you started your save game, and the club name was changed in there, then it is simply not possible to change that club's name again due to the way editor data files and lnc files work.

That's entirely up to you. There are thousands of club name changes in this file which you'll lose out on if you don't copy the 2 club name changes editor data files.


I still don't understand.. how can i use inc to change club names when already started game and saved games ? i thought all you had to do was remove hash?

Which club is it? Editor data file changes cannot be overwritten by lnc files, so if you had the editor data file in place when you started your save game, and the club name was changed in there, then what you want to do is not possible.


It’s Bayern Munich.. and I followed every step on installing this? So next time if I wanna be able to change names in saved games I do not need to copy the files to editor data folder is that what you’re saying ? Thank you

can anyone help me ? I tried changing a club name in a current saved game with the method from inc folder and removed hash tags but it still hasn't changed ..

Does anyone know how i can just have the adboards and not the club banners? in my game they sometimes cover the adboards and i cant see the ads on the side pitch..I prefer just to have the adboards only

The easiest way:

1 - Download the portuguese 3d kit pack from the previous season (it's on this site, downloads, 3d kits 17/18 for FM18)
2 - Replace the images there for the new ones @wires2 made for 18/19 season

Since around 4 clubs (i guess) are still not updated, they will show up the 3d kits from the previous season. If you don't want them to show up, do this two additional steps:

1 - Open the config file with an app like Wordpad (common in Windows systems)
2 - Delete the lines corresponding of the clubs NOT yet updated

Keep a backup of the config file so when wires launches the remaining kits you can add those lines again

Thank you @wires2 for the portuguese kits, I added them to my FM19 with a custom config.xml so I'm already using ingame your kits in my Porto / Liga NOS save. They look brilliant, very well done!
