I haven't played FM13 yet but I had an idea about perhaps how you could get the shirts working with default team colours. Yes, it would need a custom skin, or to make modifications to whatever skin you like to use. However, I imagine that if you edited the player profile pages to show blocks of colour below where you render your shirts (based on the team colours), and made your shirts partially transparent where you wanted the colours to show through, you could achieve some kind of team training top type effect.

Unfortunately this is the only thinking I've done on this and haven't had a look at what skin editors have achieved in FM13 (perhaps they already attempt such things in different ways), but from editing skins a few versions back I believe this sort of thing should be possible.
