as I said earlier in thread- j
try loading it in the editor and using save as then you will get a fmf file this will load in game
so you will have 2 files xml and fmf delete the xml

It's an XML file you have to use import

This will allow you to edit continental comps/international without rebuilding the whole structure/s.
Open a set of new continental rules
add 2 nations
Then convert to advanced rules
save the file name it whatever you want.[lets call in UEFA 1 just for now]
you now want to follow the method at [8] below setting competitions like the UCL Europa league super cup etc to a nation and removing all the nations normal competitions just leaving the ones you added so it looks like this
you now copy the list rules
Now name and close this file [it is your template to see and copy the comp rules etc you want to edit-no editing will be done in this file]
Open the original file -UEFA 1 and now click on edit and you can paste the rules you copied for all those comps in one go, so it will look like this
Also read point[17] regarding squad selection rules etc and [28] Remember for continental/International files to make sure all competitions are entered correctly

NB - A tip I have always given to anyone when editing - if you don't want to lose hours of work - make backups and use incremental saves
I dont go more than 15 mins of editing without saving a file
Use save as and name your file to be easily found eg- player changes file 01/02 etc
Also back up a file once finished store it on D drive etc just in case a file is corrupted or some changes do not work as intended you then have a plan B
I also highly recommend keeping changes file specific- that means keep club changes in one specific file- player changes in a separate file-
This way any errors failed changes are easier to find/resolve and if something corrupts you don't lose everything if you lump all the changes in one big file.

DuarteSaraiva yes you are on to it and the more users to test the quicker you can get feedback on where/if anything needs addressing sometimes most files need a bit of tweaking I usually holiday for a good 5 seasons to see what issues arise😉
