Man I give up, I'm clearly doing something wrong just can't see what. I just get the occasional blank white space showing when using the no club adboards (For some reason I cant get a screenshot), but get standard default boards everywhere else

Below are the directories I have:

Config File:
C:\Users\carl.lewis\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2015\ads\fm.xml

Images:
C:\Users\carl.lewis\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2015\graphics\Pictures\ads\africa/asia etc (8 folders in total)

My preferences are also set correctly.

These are the files straight from the download and not edited in any way.

If these boards do work on FM 2015 then I'm clearly doing something wrong. As far as I'm aware I've followed the instruction to the letter, but get the default ad boards with occasional blank spaces. (completely white sections about 3 or 4 around the pitch)

I'm sure I've put everything in the correct locations, as when I deleted the ads out of the graphics directory, all the boards completely disappeared. By putting them back they re-appeared but with the same blank spaces

Clubs in FM have two versions of their name, the long name and the short name. The short name is displayed in the league table (like in the screenshot) and in the club overview screen (the one where you can say their league position history, manager, captain and vice captain, stadium info, club info etc. - can't screenshot it at the moment). The long name is only displayed in the squad screen. This is the way it has been coded by FM and this is the way that this file is intended to work, so I can't see much wrong there.

And there lies the answer!! It seems that the names have indeed changed, however ONLY when you go to the Squad screen. I had been checking the team overview screen.

Not sure why SI have done it this way. What was throwing me, is the update shows the full names in FM14.

Ive actually done a little but more digging, and the team short name and long name seems to switch a lot when looking at different tabs within the club screen. I'll leave you alone now.

I've been attempting to get the German teams to appear correctly for the last few hours to no avail. Everything else is correct (League and competitions are updated) and I even have real players for the German national team but Bundesliga team names are still showing their default values.

Ive followed the instructions to the letter. I have even uninstalled, deleted every folder on my pc labelled "Football Manager 2015", rebooted, reinstalled, attempted to apply the update and then started a new game.

However, I've noticed that on your screenshots at the top of this page, the Bundesliga is showing the default names ie Dortmund not Borussia Dortmund. This is both from the league overview screen and when you go into the team profile.

Thanks for taking the time to respond to all these questions. Like I stated in my earlier post, yes I started a new game, directly after reinstalling fm15 then applying the fix. In response to your question, Schalke 04 are displayed simply as Schalke

An update to my previous post. I have applied the update in the exact same way to football manager 2014 and that works perfectly, but still no luck with 15
