As you suggested… so take your time and try which one may have caused the issue.

So no free lunch, eh? I hoped this could be solved without starting a new save.

Apologies for the weird question, but I just bought the game so maybe this is well known and the answer is buried somewhere (I could not find it).

I installed a bunch of editor data files from the site, as well as the real name and japan fix.

Everything works wonderfully, apart from a very minor AND very annoying thing:

- “Quarter finals” stage (in any competition having it) is named “Cetvrtfinale”

- “Semi finals” stage is named “Polufinale”

- “Final” stage is named “Finale”

All other stages, trophies, competitions, etc. have the correct English names.

What is causing this behavior? How can I fix it?

Remove the file titled Ajax staff from your editor data folder, which should look just like the screenshot in the main post.

There's a handful which need changing and they'll be in place for the next version of this file. Osasuna certainly but I'm not sure there's too much wrong with the other two tbh.

I'll be updating the Gamepass installation instructions shortly with screenshots on how to do so (thanks to @MrGizMo for this)

You haven't installed it correctly. Works fine for me. Check the installation instructions carefully and install it again. If you're positive you've done so correctly, send me a screenshot of your editor data folder so I can see if anything is the matter within there.

There are installation instructions for Mac (in spoilers) in the main post. Do they not help?

I imagine you meant the dbc folder. Those files aren't there in the build released yesterday, no.

If you're playing in Polish, you'll need to manually input any changes you wish you make yourself into the lnc file.

You can open the City, Club and Stadium Names.lnc file with Notepad and input the changes yourself using the same coding convention, with the difference that in the final inverted commas you insert the word Polish so that the game only makes the change when using the Polish language, as well as removing the # from before the code.

e.g.
#"CLUB_LONG_NAME_CHANGE" 58064627 "FK Ufa" ""

becomes
"CLUB_LONG_NAME_CHANGE" 58064627 "FK Ufa" "Polish"

I'm afraid I don't have the time to do so for you, but if you figure it out and send me a list of the changes you think are necessary, then I'd gladly add them to future versions of this file and credit you accordingly.

It's fine in v1.2 of this file

I support Liverpool, as per my (now outdated avatar), but I don't really play FM all that much tbph.

I'm not sure how to solve it, and just deleting one of them will cause all sort of problems in terms of scheduling etc., so I'm happy to leave things as is on this one.

Villareal is probably OK I agree, but I think the standard three letter name for Athletic is ATH? Maybe ATB as the alternative three-letters name?

it was fine with the beta fix

Did you check Juventus as well? With the beta fix, juventus three letters name was ZEB for me (I did not try with Spanish teams though in the beta).

Is it just me or the three letters names during the matches for spanish team are a bit off?

Osasuna is ATP for example, Villareal il VLR, Athletic Bilbao is ATB.

Also, is Juventus three letters name now JUV or ZEB? Anyone checked?

The stadium names change in the lnc file does not seem to work (Juventus and Udinese stadium names are unchanged for me).

EDIT: OK, it seems stadiums have to wait for editor data files.

A question-request: What do you think of keeping names of fully licensed leagues as they are now in the editor data files? I sort of like OM, OL, LOSC as common names for french teams. Otherwise, will it be possible to easily edit those changes in the editor data files?

I'm at work right now but I'll release an updated version of this later today, with the majority of changes being save-game compatible.

@timeodanaos, I haven't gotten back to you on the Italian rivalries issue because I haven't found a solution to it yet. The entries all appear in the editor but they then don't display in the game. I've tried editing the value, the name and even deleting them and recreating them manually, and still nothing. Looks like the licensing restrictions stop rivals from appearing completely, so there's not much I can about it, sadly...

I see. Thanks for trying anyways! It is not a huge issue, just a bit annoying...

I actually checked over the holidays and didn't find a single thing different using the editor. The teams had the same rivalries set in the FM20 database and the FM21 one. Can you give a few examples of which teams have this issue, ideally with screenshots?

@Beanybaby01, I was made aware a few days back that there are some teams in Serie A whose rivalries and/or derbies were removed in FM21 due to licensing reasons. I haven't had time yet to check which these are and release a file to sort this out. Whenever that may be, it won't be save-game compatible.

The new quick update introduced a file in the 2010 db folder: player_fix.dat

Shall we leave it there or delete it?

New version now out Unless something absolutely major comes up unexpectedly, I don't envisage a new release till the game comes out in a fortnight, as everything appears to be in order by now

The UEFA Europa League 2 is showing with the correct name?

I have been told it is implemented in fm20, and starts from 2020/21 season (or 21/22). However, I have not yet gotten that far in my save...
