Just over halfway through my first season with SW Bregenz (Austrian First Division). I have several players in the final year of their contracts who I would like to keep around but none of these players are willing to discuss new deals.

All these players and their agents are unwilling to hear any offers because apparently “any new contract would be on inferior terms”.. I have over £3k pw wage budget available so they're wrong !

Or is it possible that the board have said no players can be offered improved terms? Seems silly when I have ample wage budget available

Any advice would be appreciated

maybe wait until 6 months to go and see if anything changes

Hi all. I have downloaded a Level 20 English db that i know works. I'm trying to edit my local team to give them a perfect youth setup and a perfect HOYD (just so that I can get them quite a long way up accelerated in the 5 months till FM25!). That's all I've changed in the database (and indeed, the league mentioned here is below the level I need anyway!), but when I try to verify it so I can use it in the game, I get this message
Any ideas? Happy to do it on stream if that helps someone to talk me through it (any time today!)

everythink works perfectly. i put the second folder “fm24flutskin_dark” in the folder “Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2024\skins” as intended.
I'm just wondering what the first folder is there for.????

admin takes into account future liabilities such as wages, bonus, future fees owed etc, its not just about the current debt sum

did you increase your working capital balance to a figure that keeps you in a positive cashflow situation?

I doubt they're struggling, they had 10,000,000 downloads this year, compared to 24,000,000 in the 17 years between 2004 and 2021. Obviously alot of that will be people that don't play because of netflix and games pass etc, but presumably they're still getting paid for that.

And what do you mean Miles no longer a director?

i would suggest the numbers are a replacement of platform, 5 years ago i would buy the boxed game, these days i use steam, so the o/a numbers are probably the same

the nett margin of <0.2% is shocking, if that was any other industry it would not survive, as they would run out of cash in development, clearly SEGA are keeping the brand afloat

On companies house the only 3 directors of SI are SEGA Directors, Miles not named anymore as he was a few years ago, looks like he is just an employee

We desperately need an alternative, back in the late 90s early 2000s there were several options such as fifa manager, USM etc

surely there is a gap in the market, as FM is just a database which SI don’t / can’t ever own

the match experience is crap

the graphics are greatly enhanced by the community

what exactly do SI have that can’t be bettered by a more professional competent developer?

My tongue was stuck to the side of my mouth mate, I think the issue is the quality of the staff at SI, they are only used to working on a platform that hasn’t materially changed in 20 years, which is a lifetime of advancement in the industry.

im firmly of the view that the community has significantly more talent than Miles and his mates

There are issues with anything outside of ‘personal use’ with AI. SI will likely need an expensive licence. It's staggeringly obvious, or should be, that SI can't just rinse an AI for 500000 faces, nor can it use an AI freely within game to generate on the fly without either a licence or their own model.

i havent suggested the use of AI

i simply expect that they could provide a more realistic generic image of a young bloke with african heritage

It usually means that somewhere in the XML code for the skin or other graphics, there is missing code. I have no idea how to fix it.

i use FLUT v4 most of the time, never had an issue before and nothing changed

Well obviously, they're not going to magically generate an accurate face of a real player they don't have a face for.

I assume the fact that he has a face at all is a bug of some sort.

They could make a better job than that, SI don’t seem to have taken onboard any of the communities work on Newgens faces
