The football side of things can be different though - Mike Ashley has enough money to invest to take us to the next level he just doesn't want to and that is fair enough - but it seems the club are reluctant to take that type of criticism for whatever reason.

The 'improved' communication promised by Charnley I see has been left wanting too.

It will be a great day when we are finally bought by somebody else.

Apparently John Carver told a fan who remonstrated, "I'll meet you outside after this ya cunt" or words to that effect.

Given his similar idiocy at Southampton back in September, we can only wonder what the fuck those morons Ashley and Charnley were thinking when they decided this cretin was better than 79 other candidates to manage NUFC.

He's a joke.

Our entire club is

7 defeats in a row and still Carver praises their effort. Fuck off.

Thought that too. How he could praise their effort and come out with embarrassing things such as 'they kept going until the end' when they were all just halfheartedly wandering around for Swansea's third goal is anyone's guess...It even wound me up hearing that haha.

John Carver should hit someone. Better to be remembered as that manager who punched someone, than that manager who was quite shite for a bit.

Isn't it a plot point in Mike Bassett that he relegated Newcastle twice at one point?

Tbf in about 5-10 years, Pardew will be mainly remember as the manager that headbutted an opponent and shoved over a linesman.

Oh yeah forgot about that.

Not as bad as when Carver tried to lamp a Wigan coach over Callum McManaman's tackling ability, or lack of it, mind.

Imagine pretending to care about any of them incidents. JFK fighting Phil Brown is still the best - during a 3rd round replay exit to Hull reserves (Newcastle were at full strength) Those where the glory days of course.

Not like the banter when Shearer hospitalised Keith Gillespie. On the way Newcastle drifting from Title contenders to mediocrity with a woefully past it John Barnes the top goalscorer with 6 goals. Those where of course the glory days.

I remember seeing an old Premier League Years that euphemistically called that incident a fight between Shearer and Gillespie, which KG himself referred to as all of one (admittedly decisive) punch from Shearer being the entire thing.

JFK vs Phil Brown is something that slipped my mind. Was it that physical?

I swear there were a load of NUFC fans that wanted Carver to lamp McManaman during that incident. Maybe he needs an episode like that to win back people, as his managerial ability is clearly not the answer to that problem. Although apparently he's arranged to meet the fan he was photographed having a shouting match with during the Swansea game.

I wish people would stop giving Carver credit for 'loving the club'

Who cares? He's not good enough for the club so should be sacked. There's loads of unskilled people that love Newcastle.

I'm sure people refer to Keegan and Robson's top 4 finishes as the recent glory days and look back in horror at the reigns of Dalglish (mostly, start was alright), Gullit, Kinnear and Souness as ones that have destroyed this club.

We done well to bounce back into 5th under Pardew but completely ruined any momentum we might have had by refusing to strengthen the squad for whatever reason, mainly financial I guess. We could have gambled on further success but instead finished 16th with some of the best players this club will have until Ashley leaves.

I just cba with all the nonsense about this being the worst season ever. Newcastle have had the worst season ever about 15 of the last 20 years.

I don't know about worst in the last 20 years by results, but atmospherically, everything feels so negative, be it both in terms of team play and supporters relationship with the club. As a fact for on-pitch matters, this sequence is the worst form Newcastle have been in since 1977, which was a run of 12 defeats in a row at the start of a campaign that ended in a player's revolt and relegation. We're not quite there yet, but its not exactly roses and sunshine either.

Meanwhile, club statement on the SportsDirect thingamy: http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20150428/newcastle-united-club-statement_2281670_4675719

Bit rich of them to accuse Channel 4 of antagonising Newcastle fans. But I also get the feeling we're still going to be waiting longer for an explanation as to why commercial income dipped virtually the moment Ashley stepped in through the door, nevermind failing to pick up when we got back to the Premier League.

I do agree with Poe's line - so what if Carver loves the club or is from the city? Doesn't make him the right person to manage the enterprise - even moreso given how shit a job he's doing with it.

Nothing recently - if you count the 'improvement' in communication from club to supporters as good communication - which I do not.

Ashley and his contingent have a history of it though.

Since the Keegan inquiry in 2009 ruled that the club "habitually lied" to the fans and media, there's always been background cynicism at everything they publicly say, and its really felt like not enough has been done to resolve these fears.

In Fans Forum meetings, it always felt like we're not being the full picture by club PR's and representatives.

The lies always seem more of a Llambias/Vetere/Jimenez/Wise era trait - and they all come across as total wideboys.

Fan Forum's are certainly 'on message' but they do communicate with fans. - The message is normally ignored though. ie Newcastle have said it's unlikely they will buy anyone in the previous two January transfer windows and have confirmed SportsDirect don't pay for the advertising at SJP.

idk - but Newcastle do make statements, have fan forums etc. I'd imagine they communicate a lot more than most clubs do. I mean Carver, Charnley and Moncur have all said in the past couple of weeks the club will spend in the Summer.

You just know it will be offset by selling key players though - which will in turn leave us short AGAIN.

It's not good enough.

Show ambition and show willing to push for Europe and the admittedly very stroppy Sissoko will probably try a bit harder with better players around him, and in turn it'll make people like Cabella who haven't really hit the ground running play a bit better too.

We have the resources and money to do it, why not?

Going all out to win football games that's no good it might lead to a slight increase in ticket prices, nah Carver for me keep those prices down..
