Is there a plan to release a kind of "Essential Facepack" version? Since many people probably would only need some of the top leagues and 175'000 pics on your laptop is way overkill if you maybe need 30'000 or so or even less.
Thanks for the info
edit: And btw. can someone explain to me the "steam workshop bug" mentioned in the OP? In which case happens the doubling of all images? When I only open the workshop? So every time I open it now, it creates a copy of the whole MyDocuments/SI/Football Manager 2016 folders?
mons
I'm afraid not. How would the players to be included into such a pack be identified and selected, and how often should this be updated? And who would do such a time-consuming, fiddly and specific exercise? Same goes for those who ask for league-specific packs. I feel the system currently works well and having a 7GB folder on your PC isn't really a big deal these days, neither in terms of bandwidth to download or hard-disk space.
I'm not sure whether the Steam workshop bug still applies tbh, as I've steered well clear of it in the last FM versions. I've no idea what it does either, as I don't use files from the Steam Workshop. I believe that when you first download a file from Steam Workshop, it (used to?) re-organises your graphics folder to be able to read both the file(s) from the Steam Workshop as well as any other user files which had been added manually.

I think the problem is not diskspace or bandwith, you are right, but that todays operatings systems will try to instantly index everything and always. And 170'000 extra files will surely be a heavy load on a laptop etc. I think my computer doesn't even come close to that amount of files all together before installing that pack
Hmm okay. So I will just not open the workshop for FM then... hahah
Btw. This year I am using the Football Manager TOUCH 2016 version (on Steam) instead of the full simulation. Do I have to expect any problems with installing facepacks, logopacks or name fixes? Or is the whole folder structure and ingame structure the same and I can just follow the instructions for the main version on here? Thanks
mons
I must say I haven't had any problem with that, neither on my old PC nor my new one - so can't really comment there...
Worked fine for me so far
Both the full-fat and the Touch version use the same graphics user data folder. The only things which I believe don't work for the Touch version are editor data files, which will affect part of the licensing fix. Luckily, there's a fix (for the fix, as it were ) posted in the first post of the licensing fix thread for just this situation
Sumbriva
Aah, thank your very much. Would not have found that by myself
And about the other thing: I just saw that for example the Logopack is structures in folders by continent and countries. So I realized I can just make my "own logopack" pretty quickly by deleting all the countries I don't want and minimizing the number of files on my laptop without too much hassle. (yeah I guess I am a bit paranoid hahah)
mons
This is not really the thread to be asking tbh, but I know for a fact that the Metallic logopack is not structured as you describe it. The continents and countries folders refer to the logos for the respective confederations and national associations respectively. Club logos in the Metallic logopack are indiscriminately lumped into one folder, along the same lines as in this pack.
Sumbriva
Oh, yeah, it wasn't a question, just a comment on how I think to solve the problem mentioned earlier (and apply the same to the facepack, but that is still downloading haha). I am aware that this thread is not about logopacks.
And I was talking about the TCM Logos Megapack, not the Metallic one, as I prefer the simpler, plainer look of it.
But sorry, I didn't want to go off topic.
mons
No worries
In terms of players, it's not as easy to separate them as it is with clubs or nations. Players move clubs, get relegated, go out on loan and retire, among many other things. How can somebody be expected to keep on top of all that?? It'd be good if it could be somehow automated, but we haven't managed to sort something out along those lines yet.

Hi there. We compare all the images released on this forum in the individual threads and the facepacks release thread with the current MP images to see whether they are better. The vast majority are, and so they are added to the next update pack.
Hope this helps

Also,cut with 19062501 (2) should be deleted,there is 19062501 already.

It contains a whopping 2,987 new and improved images and takes the total MP head count to over 175,000 for the first time.
This will be the final update pack for FM16, since we will now start working on the FM17 megapack, which we hope to have available before the FM17 beta is out...

Small change for this version, icons megapack is now merged into the main pack. It was annoying to keep them separate, it results in a slightly larger changes file this time around but won't make any difference and will be simpler from now on

You can choose to download just the update pack taking you from 8.09 to 9.0, or you can choose to download the whole 9.0 pack.
There is the usual addition of new images, including for players added to FM17, and more will be added as and when they're requested
