I suggest you save the filename of each player as his UID

I did wonder if that was the issue. I will try and see if that works tonight and let this forum know, in case they wish to add some of their own player pictures.

Cheers

Problem solved it was the naming of the player face files that was the problem. Now all newly added player pic photos are viewable in game with no issues. Whoever would have thought it for FM Touch (ios)?

Does anyone know if FMXML will still work on the latest version of Windows? I cannot seem to get it to work, I get some dll error everytime. I'm trying to create an config file for some faces I'm trying to insert into my game. Thanks for any assistance.

It's worked fine at my end over different setups over many years. If any dll files are missing, I'm sure they'd be downloadable

I cannot seem to fix FMXL. Does anyone know of another tool that will help me create a config file?

Nevermind. I didn't realize I had failed to export the file. I was still trying to run it from the extraction window.

Is there a tutorial for installing the newer updates, I have 12.0 Complete Pack installed fine, but when I attempted to do the 12.1 update, it seemed to overwrite the Config, and only have the .1 faces in it, and not others from the complete pack. Any help is obviously appreciated!

Each update pack contains an amount of cut-outs (some of which are new, and others are improvements on existing megapack images). Overwriting the config file and some images is what each update pack is supposed to do. Can't really see anything amiss in what you're explaining.

I think it just clicked in my head, am I supposed to be unzipping the update pack into the existing faces folder? I was previously unzipping it to a new location.

I always find it best to extract it to a different location then move it manually to be sure everything's going in the right place.

Adding images to the megapack
N.B. Any teampacks and individual images are included in each update pack; this is for the impatient who want cuts to be included in their MP folder before then.

1. Save the image(s) to a temporary folder (e.g. Desktop or a folder in there)

2. Copy the image(s) into;

- My Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 201x/graphics/your MP folder

Overwrite only if you are absolutely sure as the previous image will then be lost!

3. Use fmXML (or a similar program) to rebuild the config.xml file to reflect the new changes.

4. Load up FM, to confirm that the new cut/s has/have appeared.

Getting an Individual picture to appear in game:

1) Save your chosen picture as the correct ID into the following folder:
My Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 201x/graphics/anywhere apart from your MP folder
(You may need to create the last 3 folders)

2) Next you need to create a config file, (the file that links the game to the image) and put it in the folder "Individual" with your picture.
You can download fmXML (Instruction Video) which will do it automatically for you. Save it.

3) Go back to your game prefs and untick "Show unique IDs" click confirm and hey presto your picture should be there.

Any questions, please feel free to ask.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, and I'm not sure I appreciate the implication that this site contains content which breaks PC's.

Hi,

I'm using the Megapack and it works perfectly - as it always has, but there are two additonal players I'd like to add photos for. I named the files [uniqeID].png, placed them within the graphics folder (created a new folder for these two), generated the config.xml using fmXML and have it in the same folder as the photos, but I can't make the photos appear in the game (cache is turned off).

I checked the XML and it seemed odd that while the megapack is using a format where these codes are the same

<record from="1000042" to="graphics/pictures/person/1000042/portrait"/>

my fmXML-generated config file had a line like this

<record from="2000032797" to="graphics/pictures/person/2820163613/portrait"/>

So I was thinking of manually updating "graphics/pictures/person/2820163613/portrait"/> to match the unique ID, but still no joy.

Then I was thinking maybe there was something wrong with my photos, so even tried taking two random pictures from the megapack and renamed them to my IDs (and copied them into my own folder), but those didn't appear either.

Any ideas what I may be missing?

Thanks!

It'd be easier to tell if you post the images in your folder and the config file tbh.

Also, where did you get the UIDs from and did you change the in-game preferences?

Thanks mons,

I uploaded them here

I made the UIDs visible in the GUI and took them from there.

Can I have screenshots of the UIDs as displayed in a save game?

And have you changed the preferences to look like this?

I have no idea why you changed the UIDs in the config file to point to completely different numbers to the ones which the respective persons use in game 😕

Here they are attached, config corrected and images cleaned up a bit 👍

Thanks, but that is the thing - I didn't change the config file, this is how fmXML generated it so I have no idea where those other IDs the config file was pointing to were coming from either. Once it didn't work, and I started checking what could be the issue, I actually made the same changes you just did, but it still didn't work.

I now tried with what you sent, but still no joy.

Where have you placed the folder I sent you? And have you changed the preferences in the manner shown in my above screenshot?

Preferences have been like that since I installed the megapack, so didn't change anything.

The folder is in
\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2021\graphics\extrafaces

Can I see a screenshot of the preferences, a screenshot of the location you've placed the folder I sent you and also what the respective person's pages look like in-game?

Replace the image in your pack with the one from here, and reload the skin.

Does that work?

No, still nothing. I think the filename may be missing a 0 there though (I tried with the extra 0 and without, same result).

Try using these files instead.

The images you provided had an extra 0 in the filename. I've changed that and the config file accordingly.

Hi!!

The face pack I created stopped responding when it was FM2021. Is it an ID issue? Or is it different? I would appreciate it if you could tell me if there is the latest method.

Postscript. It will be a cut of the players of the Japan Soccer League (J League).
