Installation Instructions
1. How do I install the cut-out megapack if I’m using Steam on Windows?
Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. Although it is for an older version of FM, the steps are still the same. You need to use Winrar (or a similar program) to extract the downloaded file.
This is what the MP folder should look like for the respective version of FM you're using:
Anything beyond the blue line is up to you and how you want to structure your folders.
The preferences should look like in the below screenshot:
To get them to look like this, navigate to your preferences on the welcome screen or by using the drop-down menu near the top right of the menu within your save game.
Choose the advanced tab (the blue square within the screenshot above) and select all from the drop-down menu on the right (the red square within the screenshot above).
Scroll down to the interface section near the middle of the list, where you are to make sure that:
• the “Use caching to decrease page loading times” box is unticked
• the “Reload skin when confirming changes in Preferences” box is ticked
After clicking confirm, it may take a few seconds or minutes for all the graphics to be loaded and you should now see all the graphics you have downloaded appear in your save game.
Once your skin is reloaded, you can re-tick the "Use Caching to Decrease Page Loading Time" button so that the splash screen at the start takes a lot less longer to load. However, the above process needs to be undertaken every time you add graphics to your game to ensure that the game "reads" them.
2. How do I install the cut-out megapack if I’m using a Mac OS?
From FM20 onwards, there's been a substantial change to how Mac FM documents are stored. Previously the files would automatically go in the Documents folder here:
Users/YOUR Mac USERNAME/Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 202x
Now the files will instead appear in the following location:
Users/YOUR Mac USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 202x
By default this folder is hidden, so to access you need to do as follows:
Open Finder
Click ‘Go’ from the menubar
Press and hold down the ‘Option’ (Alt) key
This will bring up the ‘Library’, click to enter then go to ‘Application Support’ -> ‘Sports Interactive’ -> ‘Football Manager 202x -> graphics’ (create the last folder if necessary
Anything beyond this path line is up to you and how you want to structure your folders.

3. I don’t want to have the megapack in the default user data folder – can I place it elsewhere and how would I do so?
You need to change your user data location. Simple steps on how to do so can be found here.
The above step does not apply if you’re playing on Gamepass, in which case the user data location has to be the default one (i.e. Documents / Sports Interactive / Football Manager 202x)
It is recommended that the user data location is not placed within the Steam installation folder as this may cause issues.
4. How do I install the cut-out megapack if I’m using Gamepass?
If you're using Gamepass, then you have to use the default user data folder - point 4 above does not and can not apply to you.
Frequently Asked Questions
If you're not a premium member, it is recommended that you download the base megapack via torrent by going to our cut-out megapack download page. After which, you should then download all the update packs released to date and apply them chronologically.

Torrent files need a torrent client to be downloaded. I personally use µTorrent but other common clients are BitTorrent, Vuze and Deluge. For those using torrents for the first time, here is a general walk-through on how to download torrents and a specific guide for µTorrent.
Be aware that it will take a substantial amount of time to download the file due to its sheer size and that other people depend on you hosting the file to get it so please leave your torrent client on after you have fully downloaded it. The etiquette is generally accepted to be to upload as much as you download, although this might not always be possible. The older the torrent file, the less likely it is that there will still be users seeding it.
If done correctly, you should be asked if you want to overwrite files – accept. You should have one folder for faces and another folder for iconfaces, and no sub-folder whatsoever in them.
These steps are to be repeated for every update pack downloaded, and they are to be installed chronologically.
Secondly, for files as large as this, the calculation of the extraction time will be wildly incorrect at the start. After a while, it'll show a more realistic timeframe, which shouldn't be more than an hour or two if you have a good setup and few programs running at the same time.
Try using Google Chrome in incognito mode (or the equivalent mode for other browsers) and you should be able to resume the download from the point it was interrupted, if that happens.
The likelihood is that you've put the iconfaces in the faces folder, or used the wrong config file for each folder. As a result, the smaller images (in 25x18) are being upscaled to be displayed in the person's profile, hence the blurring. Re-install the update pack again, making sure you put the contents of each folder in the right place.
Alternatively, you can download fmXML and generate a config yourself. There's a video on YouTube on how to use it but it's really easy and the instructions are quite straight-forward.
To get them to show, you should individually download the cut-out faces that you want from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

I hadn't even realized the files had been uploaded already, but yes.
Secondly, the best way to be sure is always to download it and check too 😉

Thank you my man! Oh i will be downloading mate! i'm at work and too impatient to wait lol!

Really not sure why this isn't working. FM21 seems to be such a problem with facepacks- I have used the cutout face pack for years and never had a problem. Before trying the new face pack I moved my FM20 face pack over to FM22 and it works fine. With the new face pack I followed all the steps and only nothing is working. Even faces that are in the base game have been removed (for reference using Mac, do I need to do anything different?):
mons
How many images in total do you have in this folder?
manboydevin
Downloaded the torrent version instead of copying the new files on to the old and now it works perfect. I must have messed something up with transferring files. Sorry for the pointless post!

Hi yes, I tried downloading this for good old FM 17 and it use to work before but not anymore. Any ideas?
adriano roberto
I had a problem with my HD and lost most of my graphics. I downloaded the complete file again via torrent, but when extracting a header error appears, preventing the extraction of the file.
I deleted it and I'm downloading it again. Any idea what might have happened?
mons
There's no reason it shouldn't work other than that it didn't fully download or you didn't install it correctly. I can't know about the first, but screenshots of your faces folder (showing clearly the path and the amount of images) may help me determine if it's the second.
Are you sure the torrent file fully downloaded?
adriano roberto
Yes. But just in case, I'm downloading again. In 40 minutes I confirm if the problem happened again or I was able to extract the file.
NateRego
NateRego
this is what i get

adriano roberto
I downloaded it again and managed to extract. Everything working fine now.
Thank you and congratulations for your work and dedication.

Does anyone have a download for the config file for the faces folder, the torrent did not seem to have it and the faces will just not show up in the database at all(before anyone suggests that I did the interface screen setup wrong I have checked it 100 times and can assure you I did not)
mons
Download the most recent update pack. Not only will it contain the most recent config file, but you'll also get thousands of new cut-outs.

Hi all,
I currently have graphics (faces/logos) installed at this file path, D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Football Manager 2022\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2022\graphics, but nothing is loading in game?
Can anyone advise?
I am wondering if I need to change anything in the steam settings, as I initially installed FM to my C drive, before moving it to a different SSD (D🙂.
When I 'browse' the local file path in Steam, it leads me to D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Football Manager 2022.
Thanks!

I'm afraid we have no control over mirror sites and how/where they host their files. My suggestion would be to download the torrent file. You'll get everything in one go that way, without needing multiple smaller files.
If your graphics are not in Documents, then you need to change your user data location. Simple steps on how to do so can be found here.
I strongly recommend you do NOT place your custom files (including graphics) in the Steam installation folder. For one thing, there's the possibility of conflicts with the default images.
Anywhere else will do; just create a new folder somewhere, put your custom files there and point the game in that direction.

I had the same problem when trying to download the file from Depositfiles so I tried the Uploaded link and that works for me

So I finally got the cut out pack to work on 22, but it gave a lot of players tiny images that are just blurs. Is this expected, or is there a setting I can change that will have them look clear. (pic attached)

Downloaded the pack and it works fantastic, used it last year as well and it was great then, still is now. I was just wondering what is in the update packs, is it players new to the game who may have recently came through an academy and/or updated photos of players? If its not the latter does anyone have any idea on how I could update specific player faces in game? For example on my save Haaland is looking a little baby faced and so is DCL and I was just wondering if anyone knew of a way to get a slightly more updated photo of the players if this is not included in the latest changes pack/s?
mons
The megapack contains two separate folders:
a) the faces folder for images to be displayed in a person's profile and almost everywhere else, and
b) the iconfaces folder for images to be displayed only next to the person's name when you right-click on him. This is not a resizing of the above images but a separate folder with separate images and a separate config file.
What you've done is used the config file for (a) in the folder for (b). As a result, the smaller images (in 25x18) are being upscaled to be displayed in the person's profile, hence the blurring.
I suggest downloading the latest update pack and installing it, so that the respective config files are in the right places.
Update packs include images new to the megapack (including youngsters but not exclusively) as well as updated cut-outs for people who already had images in the megapack. These are collected from the submissions forum, in which we have hundreds of images produced on a daily basis.
Both Haaland and Calvert-Lewin have had images added recently in the megapack; in Haaland's case it's from a month ago, and in DCL's case it's from the Euro 2020 photoshoot.
If you want to change them, check their timeline by using the search function
and see if there's another game-ready image you can use instead of what's in the megapack. It's as easy as downloading the image and replacing the existing megapack cut.
If you want to make a request, just click the upload image button from within their timeline, but be warned that we won't cut just any image. It has to be a clear improvement, not just a more recent image or a different one. We've got thousands of pending images so we prioritise images which are missing or need to be updated 👍

If I download the latest update from the cut-out playerfaces, is it enough if I just unzip the folder into my graphics folder, or do I have to unzip it and copy the updated pictures from the faces folder into the “cut-out megapack 2022.00” faces folder and the icon faces into the icon faces folder?
mons
Both should work, but you might wish to do the second option to be absolutely sure you're installing it correctly.

Thanks! Been many years since I've had to install graphics haha… Here's to getting fired 6 months into my Beta save, but at least it'll look pretty!

Thanks for the reply. I first installed the complete pack last March and havent installed any of the update packs since. If i install the update packs would that give me the newer photos of DCL and Haaland or would i have to do a bit of messing around with the folders? Also do I just drop the update packs into graphics folder or does it have to be in the faces folder with the original megapack i downloaded? Sorry if youve already explained this I'm just awful with tech so need it explained to me like an infant.
mons
Frankly, since you're a premium member my recommendation would be to download the full pack again from scratch to avoid faffing about. Delete your current files and put the full update pack in its stead, and you should be fine 😉
For the future, I certainly suggest downloading and installing the update packs released periodically (usually every 3 weeks) so that you fill in the gaps and update images accordingly 👍

Hi, i have been having an issue with replacing old faces with new cuts, that hasn't happened before, was wondering if anyone could help?
I have just downloaded FM22, and just moved my graphics folder (with the logos, faces and backgrounds in) across to the Football Manager 2022 folder, from the Football Manager 2021 folder. But for whatever reason, when I save a new cut, (i.e: the new version of the Bryan Gil cut), it doesn't overwrite the old image, instead just goes in the folder, even though they have the same name/UID. If i was to delete the old image, the player in game would have no face. I dont know if it has anything to do with the fact that there are two configs(?) which there probably shouldn't be, but any help would be appreciated
mons
Going by the icons, you seem to be using OneDrive.
I suspect you're either moving the new image(s) onto the OneDrive folder but using My Documents as your user data folder, or vice-versa…
antonbasti24
Hey, so i copied the updated files in each folder (icon and faces) and created a new config file for each folder, because the faces didn't show up in my safe. Now some player faces are blurred, is there a way to fix this?
