1. Download this program
2. Install it
3. Run it
(This was the simple part)
4. Now you should see small window with an Edit box, some buttons, check-boxes and radio buttons
5. First you have to choose working directory. You can get it in several ways:
- Use Browse button
- Type it or paste from clipboard
- Drag the directory on fmXML window (my preferred)
6. Next - choose Action from these 2 options:
- Make config.xml file
Use this if you have made faces/logos/kits for some players/clubs/competitions
- Translate file names to IDs
Use this if you have downloaded a face pack which contains files, named as player real name, not ID,
but you want to copy them in another folder (to avoid duplicates or whatever another reason).
This works with face/logo packs, but not with kits
(may be implemented later)
7. Object - choose one
- faces - for player/coach faces
- kits - for club/nation kits
- nation logos - for national FA logos
- competition logos - for competition logos
- club logos - for (surprise) club logos
8. Options
- All filenames are IDs
If filenames of these graphics already are resource ID numbers (which you can find in FM
2005 using option to show unique IDs), you can tick this checkbox.
Use this only if filenames ARE IDs. If they are not, you will end up with config.xml files with IDs as 0,
and they will not work in the game.
If you do not tick this checkbox, new dialog will pop up, asking you for resource ID for each
file. Find appropriate ID and insert it. For kits there are more options.
- Process dragged folders
This lets you speed up some things. If ticked, you can drag multiple folders on fmXML window to
process them as a batch. N!B! you can not change graphics type in batch mode. So ensure that all
files in these folders are from the same type.
9. GO button starts the job (in batch mode it starts automatically).
11. Edit XML
It is a simple config.xml file viewer/editor. It is very simple, but can be useful. There is an issue that you can
use TAB key normally. To get a TAB symbol, use Ctrl+TAB.
12. When the work is done, click Close. There is no surprise that it just quits program 🙂
And remember, when the work is done, share it with others.

When trying to create config file. I choose the directory where the faces are, it doesn't seem to recognize it.

Now I tried a different download. The first one didn't even require installation, and now this second one requires it but doesn't start installing, and instead says sth similar to "can't find the path".
Could it be important that I'm trying to use it in an steam installed FM 2014? As I don't have a Sports interactive folder in program files.

i download these City Pics Files: https://www.fmscout.com/a-cities-megapack-fm20.html?e=page#c50601
and copy them to: ...\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2020\graphics\pictures\backgrounds\City Pics
Ingame, i see in Background, these City Pics.
But i do not like that.
I change the Background Selector to gray Background.
now, i want to use these City Pics in Club Overview Screen.
What are the Steps to do, you see these City Pics not in background,
but yes, to see in Club Overview on the right Side.
Thanks for help!!!
here Picture to see: https://www.bilder-upload.eu/bild-ecb1eb-1579864154.png.html
Greetings from Germany
Edit:
https://www.bilder-upload.eu/bild-ef3a21-1579901337.png.html
example: Germany - 3. Liga - Hansa Rostock
<record from="928" to="graphics/pictures/club/928/logo/background/left"/>
it works - yes
but: how can i change "all" City Pics with the "new line" ? - and not, like in Picture, manually in config.xml
it is possible with fmXML? Because there are thousands of City Pic Files.

Your best bet is to create a config for the player(s) you want as if you're adding a player face.
Then find a pack using player backgrounds and see how you can use the replace all function in Notepad to change the necessary strings in your new player face config to reflect the code required to display player backgrounds.

Use this program instead : https://sortitoutsi.net/downloads/view/848/fm-graphics-configurator-for-pc

I have created bevor already a config for playerfaces but now it dont work anymore :/

It's not the pictures you drag into the program but the folder they're in.

Has anyone ever done a FM - XML update?
Lydia TrashCløwn
I've been using FMXML for kits. For some reason, FMXML is outputting every file to the “home” variant. I don't think it was doing this before? What have I done wrong?
Evil-Muffin7
see this post https://sortitoutsi.net/comments/get/543931 this xml version is outdated now.
@Carsie if not already get the new version it works well.
