i dont know why my files for the update are showing in my files as internet explorer on the icons for each file any idea why that is and will this be causing my issue for the update not working

Shouldn't make a difference, just your machine doesn't know how to open them so it's defaulting to FMF.

Please check the troubleshooting guide, you've put it in the public documents folder, this is wrong.

Users/Public/Public Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2024/editor data BAD

Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2024/editor data GOOD

Also please don't upload screenshots as docx files, you can embed images straight into the editor.
