Also, Ozil is apparently the one that will go when Bale joins, so this one could be reasonably likely.

Arsenal in for Fabio Quagliarella apparently

Julian.
Spurs set to sign Eriksen.

Do you reckon he'll do well for you in the Champions League this season?
Oh, wait...
Tommo.
Julian.
Next season, yeah.

You've been saying that for about four seasons now. You can beat your chest and act like the big man when you've actually qualified instead of, you know, choking at the end of the season two years running.
Fantastic

Perhaps, but it's been pretty much nailed on for two seasons and yet here we are. They're favourites to finish ahead of us but until that happens they can enjoy their Thursday nights.

Or all of Spurs signing seriously under perform, which isn't to be ruled out either.
Would chuckle.

This will be the toughest season yet in terms of keeping ourselves ahead of Spurs, but it's a bit premature to write us off already. I think people often exaggerate how bad we are when in reality we have a very talented first-team, even though our squad is comically thin.
This weekend will be interesting but I get the impression it's better to play them now as opposed to six months down the line when they're players will have had a better chance to gel.

Also very fair - Lamela and Eriksen are two very talented players though, would take a lot.
I'm not writing Arsenal off - you have one of the best managers in the world in charge and you're first team is very strong. People like Wilshere/Walcott/Koscielny and Cazorla would be great signings for any club in the world.
I agree with you though it will be the toughest test - I really like Arsenal - I'd rather see them win the league than most other teams, and definitely would want them in the Champions League every year.

Lamela is quality, not seen much of Eriksen to amass a fair opinion. However, they wouldn't be the first lot of talented players to not quite live up to expectations expected.
I think the big question will be how all these new players integrate into the side all at once, since a lot of them will be first team regulars. That's going to take time, some will adapt quicker than other, if at all. Bale was the go-to man of last season when they needed something, while they've now got a more balanced side they won't have Bale to pull them out with a piece of brilliance. Lamela is probably the only player they purchased (that I've seen enough of) who has some of that x-factor about him.
Either way, Arsenal are going to seriously struggle to keep the pace if everything clicks amongst the other top sides.

Victor Fischer looks near the same level though, too. Dunno if it's just the Eredivisie.

They've already lost Chamberlain and Podolski to injury and there would be concerns about Wilshere, Rosicky, Vermaelen and Sagna lasting the entire season without suffering some injury setbacks given their history.

I've heard good things too. Question will be if he'll be able to consistently put in quality performances he's seemingly doing now.
.verse
They need depth and to get in some solid squad players (as you said).
Their first 11 isn't too bad, but injuries will hurt them without the depth. Promoting young kids through might be good to see, but definitely not going to cut it 9/10 times in terms of performances.

I think the worry with Erikson is that everyon has known his available for 2 years and he's barely got a sniff of interest, despite a lot of young midfielders moving in that time.
He's also been underwhelming whenever I've seen him outside of the Eredivisie, so I guess you do have to question if its just a case of a good player playing in a wank league or if he does have that extra ability to be a success.
I hope he does do well, for some reason I like him and I'm glad he hasn't gone to Liverpool (same as Siggurdson \o/) I'm just not 100% sold on him.

Eriksen rejected moves to stay with Ajax for his development. So he hasn't been 'available' for 2 years. Also, he even said he'd sign an extension to his contract just to drive his price up so Ajax get a fair deal, given that he only had 1 year left. Loyalty is a rare thing these days, shame it's being mistaken for a lack of talent
Ninja
Not really, he rejected moves to clubs outside of the Champion's League spots and Eastern Europe for the sake of his career.
I appreciate that thats admirable because he turned down a glob of cash to stay at Ajax, but it also suggests that he had aspirations to play for clubs who weren't that convinced by his ability at that level.
