Cisse could have had 5 or 6 tonight, missed 2 sitters and scored 2 perfectly good goals.

Poor display from the linesmen.

The second one looked really close. Couldn't make mind up on the poor stream I was watching.

Disappointing result, especially given the bad decisions

Was marginal.

But even still - very poor refereeing display today.

Just following the footsteps of Øvrebø then. Norwegian refs out there tonight.

I've got that Umtiti (Lyon goalscorer) on FM. His highest technical attribute is about 12, fair to say I was surprised when his rocket of a shot flew in! What a goal.

Offside or not there's clearly something wrong with Cisse - he's could've already had 20 goals this season but seems to miss so many easy sitters.

Cisse missed loads of sitter last year, before he want on his great run. Referee was decent tonight, the only complaint was with the linesman who disallowed the first goal, he flagged very late twice.

Liverpool fans having a go at Joe Allen

'I saw something criticising Joe for not playing risk passes. Unbelievable. Our so-called pundits who don’t know the dynamics of a team and how it functions. Joe will prove an absolute bargain.'

Tiote and Cabaye both should have been sent off, legitimate goal ruled out.

How can you say the referees had a decent game?

He can't be blamed for the offside. And I didn't really see the Cabaye/Tiote incident.

Liverpool fans having a go at Joe Allen

Is a quote from Brendan Rodgers now supposed to be the be all and end all of all footballing opinion?

Because I welcome this trend, Rodgers' talks so much bollocks football is going to be a much funner place whilst we try and figure out what the hell he's trying to tell us to think.

Not half as shit as you, he may not be the most elegant to watch but he does a good job that halfwits wouldn't quite understand.

He's clearly not shit - he's just not a 17m midfielder or whatever they bought him for.

Could have 3 Cabaye's for that, and change.

Yeah but Cabaye was never a £4m midfielder either

No, I just found it incredibly funny how smug Rodgers and most 'modern' football fans were about the Shearer criticism.

Apparently some Spurs fans have been attacked in a bar in Lyon. Like the incident in Rome last year it looks like it was a local neo nazi/right wing group that did it. I'd say it's more likely to be this group wanting to make a name for themselves than a "clash between football fans" as the Rome incident was reported as. Football just gives these groups an oppertunity to chant their nonsense at the stadium and fight with police, the club itself is really secondary to the needs of their group.

Yep, was just about to post that...

I have to say, I'm really not impressed with this Borussia Monchengladbach side, Lazio were the better team in Germany and even in the middle of a wretched run of form in Serie A we're easily winning 2-0 tonight.

Oh yes!! Fantastic strike by Dembele. Not sure why I'm so happy, but I like AVB so I'll be delighted if they manage to hold on.

Jim Beglin doesn't half talk some serious sh*t. Good strike by Dembele, although I think Gonalons (I think) could have done better in preventing him from getting a shot away.

Good result for Newcastle too.

That aside, I think it was only a matter of time before Spurs got a goal. As well as just restricting to long shots backfired
