I think they shouldn't play some of the younger players. They need the vital experience of not playing in the World Cup.

I wish England had a defensive centre midfielder.

Gerrard is fucking useless at it.

Italy better show up today, won't be impressed if I've stayed up for no reason.

I can't really think of anyone better tbh. I mean Pardew is the top English manager, but would he even take it? Would Allardyce?

I don't get the point of playing youth for youth's sake. So many English players completely drop off, even when blooded young.

EURO 2004 Wayne Bridge (23),Darius Vassell (23),
WC2006 Jermaine Jenas (23), Wayne Bridge (25), Aaron Lennon (19), Stewart Downing (21), Scott Carson (20)
WC2010 Michael Dawson (26), Aaron Lennon (23),
EURO 2012 Martin Kelly (21), Ashley Young (26), Jack Butland (21)

A selection of some 'young' players there, who simply did not benefit from the experience. And simply dropped off the England radar. Kelly and Butland stull have time, but were no where near the actual England 2014 squad.

Tom Cleverley was given a key role in England qualifiers, and has completely dropped off. Players are either ready and good enough or they are not. Thomas Muller certainly didn't need the experience.

Laudrup?

I appreciate he got sacked for a reason, but his Swansea side played decent stuff and he won silverware. Martinez or Rodgers would probably be ideal, if unavailable.

How is that not a foul on Sturridge?

The penalty shout? Wasn't anything in it. Defender got in between ball and man quick enough that it wasn't deemed from behind, good use of body to allow ball to go through to the keeper.

How is that a dismissable offence?

Sturridge.

At least Jermaine Defoe scored now and again.

Great save from Gigi Buffon to deny Luis Suarez.

Ending a World Cup with a Gerrard/Lampard midfield.

Kind of apt.

Italy really are lacking a big centre forward figure to play off. Gila or Toni needed to in the squad.

Fucking hell, Suarez is such a twat.

How is the prick going to blame the English media now? Needs to be dealt with properly.

Completely unacceptable if he did bite him but the replays make it look more like a headbutt, not that thats any better. Happy he'll be on his way this summer if he's back to his old ways again.

England vs Italy - 11pm "Quick, get home from the pub"

England vs Uruguay - 8pm "Quick, get home from work"

England v Costa Rica - 5pm "Yeah, I can do overtime"

Clearly a bite. He even held his teeth in pain afterwards.

Are we sure that biting doesn't mean something like 'Hey friend' in Uruguay? Chalk it up to a cultural misunderstanding?
