Hmm, I wonder what took them so long to do it. It's been virtually painless every time I've had to go in.

Still, Applecare is no small victory. That costs about £60 here, and I've saved about £300 from having it.

They knew they were in the wrong 100% in the end and gave it to me. I wasn't going to budge, I wanted that because I wasn't convinced the computer wouldn't shit itself again in future and end up costing me money, I mean fuck I've already spent a couple of grand on the iMac.

In the end I got the Genius bar supervisor eventually (he had been away on holiday) and I've never had as painless a meeting with somebody in my life, he was fantastic, the other Apple staff not so much.

Apple have thrown a hissy fit and removed the Mac Pro from sale in the EU instead of meeting safety regulations.

Nice of them to tell people to order unsafe machines before a deadline. Horrid company.

They've been the same for ages.

And they're only not complying with the changes needed because there is an updated version in the pipeline.

You spelled correct, wrong. They aren't safe for use yet Apple and others think it is fine to tell people to hurry up to buy unsafe machines?

They have but now they are unsafe. There isn't a new version in the pipeline as they have been pulled from sale in the EU completely. They have something else in the pipeline though.

Just what does it take to wake the Apple lovers up?

Not an Apple lover. Don't own any Apple products and dont wish to.

Pretty sure they will unavail a new desktop this year. I work at a large UK retailer of tech goods and we have been told that there will be something to replace this.

The new amendment comes into place on 1st March, so they currently pass all safety legislation's.

So KM, you're a libertarian Thatcherite that hates corporations taking advantage of lax business regulations for the purpose of procuring optimum profits?

If he's using it for gaming why would he want to waste all those resources on emulation when he could run the real thing through boot camp?

Which is definitely worth it baring in mind that (iirc) Parallels runs games at about half speed and doesn't support DX10 or above.

My lock button started playing up the other day, took it into the Apple store today and walked out 5 minutes later with a new phone

Nothing was covered under warranty, but if it was out of warranty or something not covered then you can pay £149 for a new phone.

Yeah, I have that feeling too.

I don't know why they brought out Apple Maps with it, it's still shit. Luton is still in Devon for god's sake.

First thing I did was remove Maps and books from the taskbar.

I think battery life is better, slightly, but thats about it.

Worth nothing that this is OSX 10.9 so the next proper update should be huge.

My Mac has been running a bit slower since having Mavericks, I really should have kept with Mountain Lion a while longer.

The best feature is the Multiple Displays one, much better functionality.

Finder one I found one of the most pointless because I already have XtraFinder, which does everything plus Cut & Paste.

The screen in my FM's gone a bit odd since installing Mavericks, it's zoomed in so you can't see the top and right of the screen but when you hover the cursor the options seem to be in the correct places.

Any ideas?

Edit: Should have said, windowed mode works fine but it's a workaround at best.

The new 'app nap' thing is probably to blame. It basically stops any apps in the background from using system resources (very annoying when you are playing FM and browsing the web as its processes) you can turn it off on an app by app basis by cright clicking on the application, get info and then prevent app nap.
