Bullied. Love it. What a performance. Glenn Murphy is the boy. Now moves onto 98 goals and 119 international caps. Oh my lord. What a player. He seemingly gets better with age, internationally it seems. North Korea were thoroughly outclassed. Impressive performance.
A potential banana skin. It almost happened to. However thanks to the heroics of Murphy we managed to recover a win. On course after three games.

Duffy and Hamilton score two goals to ensure an epic dismantling of Singapore. We were very good value for our win. Lots of good football and lots of players performing well. Singapore mind have their chances and just couldn't break the defence. We got to ensure we tighten up at the back again.
A huge victory and another win that puts us on the brink of qualification for the next round of the World Cup. China came at us but we were just to good and our strike force took us over the line.
How the group looks. Should be through to the next round. Whether I take Australia to another World Cup is to be seen. All depends how mission Saudi Arabia goes.

Stole a win against a strong Portugal side. We have the ability of coming back against the bigger boys. Wish we didn't concede so easily and early.

Asian Cup qualification and through to the next round of World Cup qualifiers.
Couldn't finish our dinner. A somewhat rotational side played but a side good enough to beat North Korea. Never mind, as it is onwards and upwards for us.

We went down and cameback to earn a marvellous 5-1 victory. Keen's two goals were a joy to behold. He came on early in the first half to replace the injured Wilson and bagged two long shot curled goals. Outstanding. The Pohang hero Thurtell bagged a hat trick to ensure there was no embarrassment
Almost another upset but pulled through due to the quality of Wilson and Thurtell. Young up and coming striker Sean Taylor bagged a goal on début. Expect some big things from this lad in the future.
Our next group. We should qualify with ease for the next World Cup.

A reasonably well looking fixture list. Some big wins and some disappointing defeats. Injuries and lack of experience cost us at times. However over the coming seasons I am looking and hoping this will be addressed by the squad. We have a good chance of improving on what we did this season in the league. But is going to require a lot of work from the boys.
Al-Nassr has a stranglehold on the league. We are a side that is developing and improving all of the time. Lot of the youngsters have really shown the old guard how to do it. We were 11 points behind the champions and only four in front of third. It shows how tough and close the league can be.
An impressive Super Cup victory ensured we started the league campaign well.
The Crown Pince Cup was a trophy we dominated from the off and faced little trouble on our way to lifting it.
More of the same this time in the Champions Cup. We have a knack of winning these cups and trophies here in Saudi Arabia. The next logical step would be to win the league. However I cannot really see it happening unless we strengthen heavily. With limited finances it will be unlikely.
The squad possesses a reasonable amount of talent. But does heavily need improvement. This will continue to be built upon in the coming seasons.
The deals are all not involving cash. Hopefully deals out will involve more cash and the deals that come in are on the cheap.
Finances are a mess. I just hope a successful Champions League campaign of sorts will ensure we improve the finances. There is of course European interest for Hamilton. I am inclined to sell him. But the minimum valuation of £5 million must be met. This will at least help improve those figures.
Key Player Profiles:
Waterson enjoyed playing in the hole. He has developed massively over the season. I am suprised he as yet to be capped at U21 level for Australia, so will be having a word with that manager to ensure he does. I expect big things from him next season too. Will likely feature quite heavily as part of our Australian contingent that are emerging at the club.
An outstanding season for this man. Been really impressed by him. He has dominated the league scoring charts and to top it off he has scored some pretty valuable goals for us at international level too. Hamilton is improving all the time. Looking forward to see how he goes this next season, if we still manage to have held onto him.

Next Season
A solid season that now sees us attempting to push the might of Al-Nassr to win the league. Sadly at the moment we are not quite there. Another season and the youth coming through from the last intake will be old enough to make impact on the league. The good news of having qualified for the group stages of the Champions League means that there should be some good money coming into the club. Ideally I'd like to continue developing the Australian talent I have imported whilst also building up my Saudi Arabian players base.

Not an easy game. South Korea tested us hard and we managed to pull just through. Bennett stepping in for Wilson proved that he has quite a bit of talent. He's not kicked on as I would hope. Partly down to his club. However he still has time and hopefully will be Wilson's natural long term successor.
Qatar took a pounding but only managed to concede two goals We waisted quite a bit of possession but at the end of the day it is all about getting that victory.
5 points clear. We have our destiny for another World Cup in our hands.

Disappointing to only grab one goal. Thurtell took his chance well, but missed others. However we have won the game and secured another three points on the quest for qualification for the World Cup.

Pleased with the result, a much rotated squad ensured we got through the game with a victory. Plenty of positives and a good chance for others to get a cap.
We went down somehow and then couldn't finish our dinner. Credit to Oman for being so spirited. But for us, we took them for granted and we didn't put our chances to bed. Got to improve.
Another win should see us qualifying outright for the World Cup. Looking forward to defending our crown.

The two defeats by Al-Ittihad hurt. When you are flying high with momentum and to lost both times in the that particular manor was not great. The 8-4 victory over Al-Nahda was most certainly the highlight of the league. To dismantle a side like this was brillaint. Maybe not for the opposition for us it was a fantastic highlight of the season.
We have won the league with a margin of 6 points. I am happy to have done so. Hamilton was a goal scoring machine and is attracting vast interest from Europe. Much like Keen and Thurtell, be whether to be seen if a deal will ever be struck.
An easy defence of the Champions Cup. Pleased to have done so.
Walked the Super Cup. It was a great start to the season and dismantling Al-Nassr is such fashion was fantastic for the confidence.
What a talented squad. So many good performers and lot of youngsters that have come through the academy are now playing. The continued development is still the target of mine and hopefully I will be in a position soon so sell these guys for profit.
All deals in and out on frees. No money in which is disappointing.
Things are getting back on track. Success on the pitch and the culling of the playing squad has meant there is light at the end of the tunnel. However we are still in the red and certainly not out of it yet.
Key Player Profiles:
The experience Saudi striker was exceptional for the team. Scoring goals and assisting and playing like a young 21 year old. He was simply fantastic and formed a deadly strike partnership with Hamilton. He is likely to play for another season, hopefully he can continue this for another season.
Waterson is unreal. How he still hasn't been capped at U20s level is beyond. He could be a World Cup bolter for Australia. He has worked well playing in the hole. What a signing this lad has been.
43 appearances ... 55 goals. Enough said.

Next Season
So we go again. I got to ensure that this season's title win was not a fluke. We just managed to win the league and the difference between us and other sides challenging is the fact they have money to spend. We don't have anything, yet. As you can see from the finances we are improving all of the time. The board are playing their share by injecting money in from time to time to help us keep a float. But deeper success in the Champions League will soon see good finances return. Next season see's a World Cup year and I am keen for us to do well and defend the crown. It is possible, but our midfield need to find their legs.

South Korea came to challenge but our fire power was to much. Despite depleting injuries we were still good value and managed to over come a strong South Korean side. Midfield stepped up for us.

Topping the group and no better feeling. We are quite clearly the dominant force here in Asia.
Over the next few weeks we will be competing in the Confederations Cup. Ivory Coast are a potential opponent during the tournament. So it was great to get the win. Nice to see Harry Franken getting man of the match. The young gun from Al-Shabab has really stepped up.

Fantastic start to the campaign. Beating a strong Argentinian side. We did look good value for our lead. It is a great victory and one that will give us confidence going into the competition.
What a game. Portugal came full throttle and we weren't at the races. Thurtell was immense, scoring two late goals to salvage a draw. He also was a provider and covered a lot of ground. His international record is outstanding too.
We stole the victory here. Mexico may have been bottom of the group but by no means are they mugs. They had their chances but the main man in goal Duffy was outstanding. Piddick committed suicide and we had a backs against the wall job in which it saw us somehow survive for the last 40 mins. A lot of character was shown. We progress to the semi finals.

I did have a feeling we would meet the Ivory Coast. It was only a month ago we played them in a friendly in prep for this. Yes we won that and I think the players felt we would win comfortable again. We didn't and just managed to scrape through thanks to penalties. It is very frustrating that we couldn't do the job in extra time. It set up a nice tie against Portugal in the final. Another side we had played previously.
What a game. Pleased to have won another major international trophy and one now that cements my legacy as one of the best international managers that has been. The true goal is to head back to the World Cup and defend the title. We can do that now, we have proven we still have the quality to win against the bigger European and South American nations.
So our captain has stepped down on the eve of the World Cup. Thurtell has been handed the reigns. Long will continue to be selected up until the World Cup. His experience will be vital.

So progress can be seen now. We rank third best club in Saudi Arabia. It wasn't that long ago we were rated as one of the worst in the top flight.
Favourites again. We have the same squad and one that is now an experienced unit despite being so young.

Strong end to the group ending for the qualification of the World Cup. All round contributions from the strikers and midfield ensured we scored four decisive goals to beat Qatar and further cement our place at the top of the group.
Stephen Taylor bailed us out. Squad was much rotated but we got away with it.

Had Bulgaria taken their chances this game would have been much closer. Cannot argue with the boys commitment and nice to secure a victory over a side outside of Asia. We play two more friendlies in November before a potential fixture in March in the lead up to the World Cup.

Only the game against Jeju caused us some issue. Other than that it was a fairly comfortable return to the Champions League here in Asia. Our group was a fairly weak one and only Al-Jazira were the team to look out for. We played expectationally well and it was highlighted in the 7-2 dismantling of Jeju in the first knockout round.
Having to face two of my former sides was going to be tough. Pohang pushed us but it was a side that has changed much since I was in charge. They capitulated in our home tie but when we went to the Steel Yard it was a different story. We managed to hold out in a high scoring draw. We should have dusted of Al-Nassr far better than we did. We knew how they would operate but not to see them off by a greater margin was disappointing to see. The final was a cracking affair. Putting Marinos to bed in Japan only for them to cause us some nervy moments at our home. We held on, just. Securing another AFC Champions League title and monies to boost the coffers of the club.
