Towards the end of the season managed to pick up my century of games for the mighty Marinos. Pleasing achievement. Don't think there will be another 100 mind.

When I secured the Club World Cup this messaged appeared. So took a look. Not going to lie I have been looking from time to time at the Hall of Fame but as the Asian leagues are not that highly rated in reputation compared to the European scene thought I was going to be miles away from ever entering this. However I did and here it is.

Leaving Japan after two successful seasons was always going to be tough of sorts. The last half of the season was a real struggle for motivation. I just had to plough through it. The same was the case to continue the journey. I did however find a club in Indonesia that appealed. Purely because of the clubs logo and kit. I dunno how long I will last here. When I took the job the chairman made some pretty tight clauses, no replacing the dodgy director of football, not allowed to apply for jobs and no investment into facilities as such. I don't like signing deals like this but at the time I was jobless and wanted to bounce straight back into management. I signed a one year deal only. So if I doesn't work I have a get out of jail free card.
History of the Club
Sriwijaya, is an Indonesian football club based in Palembang, South Sumatra, Indonesia. They play in the Indonesia Super League. Their most common nicknames are Elang Andalas (Andalas Eagle) and Laskar Wong Kito (Our Warrior). The club was founded in 1976 as Persijatim Jakarta Timur. In 2004, the Government of South Sumatra and Persijatim owner M. Zein, signed an MoU to buy Persijatim to became a new club Sriwijaya FC, based in South Sumatra. They are the first team that have done a double in Indonesia by winning both 2007–08 Liga Indonesia Premier Division and 2008 Piala Indonesia in the same season.
Club Profile - The club has been up and down in Indonesia really from the start of this journey. Rarely dipping out of the top half. The club needs to find its confidence again. I hope to bring some silverware to the club. It was not long ago that the club won the league.
General Info - Predicted to finish 9th and the club currently lie in 9th. I have some decent players so I should go above what is being asked. This journey is also not about completing leagues or whatever but rather sampling some countries that I would never manage in before. Hence why I am unsure whether I will stay here past a season.
Manager Profile - Things are seemingly level off. Bars have pretty much stabilised into the positions they are now. I have given up caring about the numbers. I know what I am doing ... well I hope.
Facilities - Stadium is of a good size and poor facilities. I will look to at least improve the training facilities whilst I am here.
Staff - Could do with some investment I suppose.
Finances - A club finance that has been and needs to be managed carefully and correctly. A well run club.

Youth intake. Some very talented players, how much of them are of real quality outside of Indonesia is whether to be seen.

Encountered a problem. Or at least the mess the previous manager left me to deal with. I can't register any of the main first team players for the league. I have to field the players from the U21s. How unreal is this. I am so frustrated. Feels like I have been tucked up here by the previous manager. Close to the way Glenn Hoddle left Wolves after his stint in charge there. Transfer window opens in February so just a handful of games to survive to allow me access to the first team players.

I can see what you mean. Just found it frustrating that I can't register players until the transfer window. But then again the random days games are played don't help either.

First season in Indonesia and one that could hold an interesting period for me in the game. The team are already part way through the season and lie in 9th. Lot of football to be played. The club has been successful in previous seasons but nothing in the last three years. Hopefully with the right formula I will be able to change the club position and compete to get a continental football place.
My first game for the club was in the Piala first round. As you can see from then on it was all positive results. We really dominated the league and cup here in Indonesia. Victory over Perswia was a joy to be involved, should have been 10-0 but easily would take 5-1. The squad has gelled well and understood the tactics that I have employed and therefore results have been fantastic.
Won the league by 8 points. Would have been more had it now been for the odd results here and there before the end of the season. Two of our players scored over 20 league goals which is fantastic to see. We played a game that strangled most opponents in the league as they are not technically good enough to cope with. Very pleasing to turn our fortunes around.
The squad did well. As I said above, gelled well with me and understood the tactics. A few players were relegated to the U21's side as they began to moan instantly about the change of ethos in football. Easy decision to make. No one is bigger than the club. The squad does need a bit more quality in it. But I take little notice of the stars.
Not much transfers out. More in. Added some quality in. Used most of the transfer budget given. Will need to look to be shrewd next season with transfer deals. Don't want to waste the cash.
Finances took a bit of a dive towards the end of the season as we start to pay off the construction workers for our new training facilities, otherwise it has been fairly solid making a slight profit. Again careful managing is needed in the future.
Key Player Profiles:
Beni the young Indonesia U20s right back was simply outstanding for us. Loved getting forward and loved getting crosses in and assisting goals. He was very influential at the back and part of a defence that was rock solid. One of the major reasons for our turn around in form.
Ken from Nigeria just bossed this league. Brought in on a free in the February transfer window from his agent. Similar to James Eronna (remember him), who I felt had some outstanding potential but could never string it consistently. Be interesting to see how Ken gets on. Feel he is to good for the league. Expect another big season from him.
Brought in at the start of the season, and along with Ken he linked up well. Filled in mostly on the right wing but was lethal from there and upfront. Should have more international caps.

Next Season
Next season I make no doubts I want to leave Indonesia. Very similar to Malaysia and I have no real dream of staying here. Where I go next. Who knows. Maybe a move back to the Gulf or Korea.

More clubs than hot dinners some would say. Leaving Indonesia was an easy task to do. It was a stop gap filler and a chance to sample another nation with its take on football. I was never truly happy there and moving clubs at the moment I am trying to find a club to settle down for a few seasons. Is Wolmido that club? Who knows. There has been a few clubs pop up but at the wrong moments, notably in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Timing is key and I hope that when my time here is up I can move to a club that I want to manage. This club appealed for a few reasons. One was because I have created this North Korean league based on the limited information I could find and two this club has won the AFC Cup some seasons back and I would like to do the same again if possible. A bonus as well in this league is that there is no foreign player quota. So this could well be an interesting challenge. However, there is a lack of logos and kits for the league. As we know North Korea doesn't like sharing its information so it is limited. Three year deal means I have some security and a chance to build another dynasty in another country.
History of the Club
Wolmido Sports Club is a North Korean football club owned by the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts of North Korea. Wolmido SC is based in Kimchaek, their home ground is Kimchaek Municipal Stadium, which has a capacity of 5,000. Bar from that, that is all the information about the club.
Club Profile - The club has had its moments in North Korea. Rarely dipping out of the top half. The club needs to find its form again. The club has won some serious silverware in North Korea but its recent poor form has meant that the previous manager was given his marching orders. Kits have been designed by myself, 110% sure they do not look like this but thought it would be an interesting take on the kit.
General Info - Predicted to finish 1st and the club ended in 5th. Not good enough. The club ethos needs to change. When it does things will get easier for the club. Some of the clubs favourite personnel are still at the club, I will of course treat them with some respect but if they are not good enough they will be shipped on.
Manager Profile - Things are seemingly level off. Nothing has changed really since the last update. Bars have pretty much stabilised into the positions they are now. I have given up caring about the numbers. I know what I am doing ... well I hope.
Facilities - Stadium is of a good size for the league and we possess poor facilities. I will look to at least improve the training facilities whilst I am here. Chairman has already agreed to invest in the youth facilities.
Squad - With a league with no foreigners quota rule it is hardly surprising that my entire team and many others have no North Korean talent. I would like this to change. I'd like to see us develop at least one North Korean player whilst I am here. I am going to target the best North Korean talent in the league for next season to begin the revolution. However there is some decent talent here. Whether it is good enough to compete on the continent is to be seen.
Staff - Could do with some serious investment. All the staff walked out with the manager when he left. So this is a great start.
Finances - Plenty of money here. Spend well and spend wisely a wise man once said.

One of my first jobs was to come in and win the Republican Championship, an end of season winners tournament contested amongst the elite of North Korea. Very pleased to beat the big boys in North Korea. Has set the standards for next season.

I am not going to lie I am finding this save becoming increasingly not enjoyable. I am looking for a way to relight the fire for this but I am finding it tough.

Had a brilliant offer from Goyang in the second division in South Korea. Sadly they were not willing to allow me to delay the move until the end of the season. Very sad because there are no league fixtures and I wanted to end the season with Wolmido. However if the club cannot wait for me then I can't accept the deal. There will be another I am sure.

First full season in North Korea and one that could hold another interesting period for me in the game. As I have previously mentioned I am at a crossroads with this save. My time has become quite precious and to continue this save I am going to need some serious motivation. As it stands I ave done what I have wanted to achieve in this save, I have sampled and experienced Asian football and feel my knowledge has been expanded. However I have one or two more nations and in particular clubs in these nations I would like to manage. One of them I have had the opportunity to manage in the past but has not fallen in the right timeline. Being distracted to try other various long term saves have not helped this either.
Undefeated and by no small means feat. We never looked like not going undefeated. Confident and cocky you might say. Yes, yes you are right. The standard of the league is abysmal. The league early on in this journey was very highly ranked, once in the top 10 leagues in Asia, it now finds itself down in the late 20s. It means that the quality of players is not that good. The demolition of Haebangsan both home and away was a show of strength for us. South Pyongan also suffered the same humiliation within the space of three days. Goals came from a variety of sources which was fantastic to see as it shows that we had attacking threat from all over the park.
Dominated the league from the off. Won by a clear large margin of 7 points. April tried to push us but again the brand of football I get my sides to play mean that most sides in Asia cannot cope with it. High possession is the key here. Sides are not technically good enough to cope with it.
Went back and defended the Republican Championship. With relative ease. Had to use penalties to win the final.
Won the AFC Cup and the second time for this club in its history. They last won it in 2024. Fantastic effort. Ramadan was unreal during the campaign, scoring goals and creating chances for others. It was a great achievement for the club. What I have learnt about the AFC Cup from this journey is that it is a campaign that is fairly straight forward with some absolute horrendously poor sides. Defiantly a competition for the smaller footballing nations of Asia.
The squad was simply outstanding. Lot of good and consistent performers. However the main concern for me was the amount of injuries that the player easily picked up. One of the reasons I am not looking to come back to North Korea for another season. Don't think the facilities or players will ever improve enough to prevent injuries.
Lots of deals on the cheap with the Australian international defender Burke the only deal involving money. On the deals out most left on frees. High turnover but needed to get the quality of players into the club.

Due to the large number of the wage budget and the lack of realistic income from match tickets, it means we are running at times at a loss. Prize money makes it that we sort of break even. Most clubs in the league operate on a basis like this. Not the smartest of things.
Key Player Profiles:
Syrian international Ramadan has been very crucial for us on the right wing this season. Benefited from a squad who has fail to stay fit. Was going to be our backup striker but ended up our first choice winger. Scored goals for fun and his pace caused much problems for defences in North Korea.
Sanchez joined us on a free at the start of the season after being released from his contract in Spain. He has been fantastic. He has been solid in the center of the park. He has been the past master and really held the side together. Far to good for the league. Expect him not to be with us next season. Has fantastic value and some really good re-sale value for the club.
Itoua is something else. The left winger terrorised defences and opponents alike in North Korea. His goals and assists were vital and I am very surprised no clubs are coming in from him. He tore sides up. Sadly for me and him I probably won't be around as my contract runs out and my enjoyment for a career in North Korea is up.

Next season I am off. Already have a deal with a club on the table. Not moving that far actually.

Moving South of the border and to a club that has not progressed since the beginning of the save. Some money but not much, a club that needs rebuilding. Although I am not a fan of having to play defensive football. Will be looking to change that ASAP.

The aim is to rebuild Pohang. How long that takes is dependant on what funds I may receive from the board. Much is the same in Asia. Soon as you have cash you can become a force. I took Pohang because they have a rich history in the real world but on the save have not achieved anything.

Another new club in a short space of time. Have found it difficult to keep this save going. I want to find a club that I can settle for some time and then look to wrap the career up. Pohang are possibly this team. Lots of good things at this club, just need some tweaks here and there to get the right players in and the right system in place to get this club back to the top of South Korean football.

Pohang Steelers is a South Korean professional football club based in Pohang, North Gyeongsang. They were originally called POSCO, after the Pohang Iron and Steel Company that owned it. The club was founded in 1973 and once was one of Korean football's most successful sides. They were once declared the most successful team in Asia with three AFC Champions League titles in 2014 but that has since changed. Following the conclusion of the 2009 K-League season, at the 2009 FIFA Club World Cup in December, the Steelers finished in third place after defeating Atlante 4–3 on penalties.
Club Profile - The club has had its moments in South Korea in the past. Rarely dipping out of the top half. The club needs to find its form again. Have not finished higher than third since the beginning of the journey. The club has won some serious silverware in South Korea and the continent but its recent poor form and mismanagement has meant that the club has not progressed as it should.
General Info - Predicted to finish 4th last season and the club ended in 5th. Not good enough. The club ethos will be changing for the forthcoming season, looking at developing playing talent is a must. Club has many icons and hopefully I can add myself and few of the new generation of players.
Manager Profile - Things are again seemingly level off. Nothing has changed really since the last update. Bars have pretty much stabilised into the positions they are now. I have given up caring about the numbers. Only change is that to media handling. Last season I allowed my assistant to most of talking. Will be changing that here in South Korea.
Facilities - Stadium is on the small size for the league and we possess very good facilities. I will look to at least improve the training and youth facilities whilst I am here. Chairman has already agreed to invest in the both facilities. As for the stadium, will all depend on attendances of the games.
Squad - The squad is immensely talented. Lots of good players and performers from last season, however their is an issue with depth and that will be something I am keen to address. If I can do that then it will create a healthy competition within the squad and push players to be the best they can be.
Staff - A good setup but some staff will be leaving to be replaced as they don't meant the required standard. Be looking to employ a director of football too.
Finances - A very healthy club balance. Club is relying on continental football for funding. I must ensure that I at least finish in a continental position. .
