We're out the FA Cup in the second round against fellow League Two side Barrow. Could be a blessing in disguise as we can focus on our league form now.

Or maybe we won't focus on our league form, an annoying 3-2 defeat against Scunthorpe not helping our promotion chances. Slipping from second to fourth.

A little disappointed we couldn't at least reach the third round.

It wasn't important, the league remains our priority.


Good win over Stockport, finally Hood back amongst the goals with a fine brace.

Good point against league leaders Exeter, we held on well.

And so that's my stint done, a game short as our match against Gateshead got postponed on the 28th of the month. We sit third in the table as the save returns to Shedender, currently on target for promotion. Two points off second place Colchester with a game in hand but twelve points off high flying league leaders Exeter.

Just couldn't take our chances in this game away to York City, drawing 2-2.

Poor. We will get nowhere if we're unable to keep leads. Unacceptable result against mid-table Plymouth at Deepdale. Adam Phillips on target for us on sixteen minutes but then the side collapsed to the surprise of no one.

Not the greatest performance of the season but the side picked up an important three points away to Burton as Tom Anderson, Michael Duckworth, Callum McGregor and Adam Phillips (pen) were all on target at the Pirelli Stadium. It's been four games now since James Hood found the net, which is a little concerning.

Stalemate at home to Wimbledon. Didn't really look like scoring at Deepdale.

Oh deary me, drew one apiece away at struggling Gateshead. Michael Duckworth had given us the lead on fifty two minutes but when I thought we were going to hold on for maximum points, Gateshead levelled at the International Stadium with seven minutes remaining through Corey Blackett-Taylor. Frustrating.

Why the f**k can we not beat the crap teams in this league? Why the f**k can we not actually take the lead in a game and keep it? Argh! Frustrating as anything! The only 'crumb of comfort' is that striker James Hood ended his goal drought after thirty two minutes. We are sixteen points behind the leaders and I've officially ruled us out of the title challenge.

Mustard. A goal twelve minutes from time cost us defeat at home to Colchester. I must love 'ruining' teams.

Had to come from two goals down as we beat Bury 4-2 at Deepdale as our four goals arrived in the second half.

I don't care if James Hood scored a goal, drawing against the basement club is an absolutely embarrassing and an unacceptable result, especially at Deepdale. Not good enough!! I've found no consistency during my spell - it's Elgin all over again. The club remain sixteen points behind the leaders but the way things are going, we won't even get a play-off spot.

Is it in our contract that we aren't allowed to beat struggling sides? Once again, unacceptable.

And it continues as we couldn't even beat second bottom Barrow on our travels, Adam Phillips' goal at the end saved defeat but not embarrassment.

How did we not win this? Still cannot defend to save our lives as we drew three apiece with playoff rivals Accrington at Deepdale. We found ourselves two nil behind after seven minutes and then three two up at half time before Stanley levelled the contest in the second half and despite dominating large parts, Preston just couldn't find a winner.

I'm very close to resigning now due to yet another unacceptable result against a s**t team!

Just a third league win in something like fourteen games as substitute Callum McGregor scored the winner with 21 minutes left against struggling (yes, I actually beat a struggling side, go me!) Doncaster Rovers at Deepdale.

Held on for a point away to Stevenage.

Oh for crying out loud, this inconsistency is going to get me us sacked as Oxford win 1-0 at Deepdale.

This is f**king laughable, no surprise to see I've lost to ANOTHER struggling side as Dagenham win 1-0 at Victoria Road as we didn't even muster a single shot on target. It's now three wins from our last seventeen league games and that's fully unacceptable and I seriously cannot wait until my horrible (surprise, surprise) stint is over! The side have now failed to score in their last three games!

Due to recent form, we deserve to be relegated to the National League and not be in eighth position.

Torn apart at home to league challengers Coventry as the visitors won three nil to end a horrible spell from me.

We're on borrowed time at Deepdale come the end of my embarrassing spell in charge as I guided us to just three wins out of eighteen games and that's relegation form. Preston will remain at League 2 side next season as we're well out of the title race and I'd like to rule us out of the playoffs as well as we're in atrocious form and the 'confidence' has gone completely - it doesn't help the club haven't scored in the past four home games and perhaps it's time for a tactic change.

Hood ends his ten hour goal drought with our winner after just six minutes, a big win for us, we've cut the gap to the playoff spots from five points to just two points after Hartlepool, Accrington and Burton all lose. Bit of end of season motivation and we're still in this fight. With twentieth place Southend beat, we now face a home meeting with nineteenth place York.

Struggling York gave us a good run for our money but we held on. We came back from behind twice through Phillips and an own goal before McGregor sealed the winner for us.

Definitely happy with a point away at Plymouth, though we should of had all three. We were behind inside five minutes however Anderson and Hood netted either side of the break as we then lead. A ninetieth minute goal denied us of all three points.

Gateshead avoided relegation despite losing one nil to us Jake Jarvis netting ten minutes from time as we move into the playoff up in seventh place.
