Hello!

First of all, sorry if this isn't the right place to start this topic. Please move it if there's a better place on the forum for it.

I'm looking for any sort of real time editor for FM 2010. Basically any tool that'll allow me to chnage my regens' names. I looked for it onlin but can't seem to find a working link anywhere. Preferably, I'd need an editor for 10.0.0. patch but I'm not sure if there's a working link for it.

Thanks in advance

If it's just a regen name that you want to change, there's a quicker way - an lnc file (which is save-game compatible).

Open a Notepad file and save it in this manner: https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/fVPYxXZIOtvEMSsEMl40qGeimaWNBq7sw0TXFd0K.png

Naturally the actual filename is up to you

Save it in on of these 2 folders:

– if you bought the game through Steam – C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\football manager 2010\data\db\1000

– if you installed the game from a CD/DVD – C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\football manager 2010\data\db\1000

The text you need to add is as follows:
"CHANGE_PLAYER_NAME" xx "First Name" "Middle name" "Surname"

Where XX is the player's UID and the fields in orange need to be changed. The middle name is optional at that section can be left empty between the "".

So if you want to change the name of the player with UID 12345 to Lionel Messi, you would do the below:

"CHANGE_PLAYER_NAME" 12345 "Lionel" "" "Messi"

Alternatively, PM me and I'll do the file for you

Thanks for instructions Mons. That's pretty much what I wanted to do as I don't like some regen names in my save.

Thanks for the link to FMRTE as well. Unfortunately, it only works for 10.3.0. patch which I'm not a fan of as the number of injuries seems to increase significantly. Will still download it in case I move to that patch.

In case someone still finds a FMRTE for 2010 compatible with either 10.0.0 or 10.1.1, please leave it here. It's a nice tool to have as I pretty much plan to stick with fm 2010 for a few years.

That buil of FMRTE is compatible with 10.3 version, but should obviously be backward compatible with older version of the game.
Did you already tried it?

re FMRTE back then name changes caused all players with similar names to also be changed it was bugged

it still cant change names correctly either in fmrte 19

eg if you have a player called Paul Brown and you want to change it to Thomas Maguire (in fmrte 10 all players in db with surname of brown would be changed to maguire so it was bugged)

now using the same example you can change the names but only to one with the same amount of characters or less so in my example Paul Brown would show up as Thom Magui

the best way is old school as Mons says that works just fine

Ivs, it didn't work for me but I'll give it another go tomorrow, maybe I didn't do everything right. Thanks for the link.

Oh, didn't know about bug, tnx for the advice. Will definitely do it the old-school way then!
