I didn't actually use the source image. All I did was extend the canvas size and use clone stamp (alt+S) to copy bits of his hair on top to get a more realistic rounded head.
@janedwinssen, I appreciate these are mostly sources which aren't exactly ideal, but for images like this, a bit of clone stamping of the hair will produce a cut-out in which the top isn't cropped off so abruptly. I'll see what I can do for this one, but do keep it mind for future cuts 👍
