In cases like this, go to image size and untick constrain proportions. You can then decrease the image width, experimenting with different widths until the final cut resembles a more realistic appearance. I tried with 160 width, but eventually settled on 150. It depends on the image itself, naturally.
Once that's done go to canvas size and change the width back to the correct size, i.e. 180. This will see the cut have a more realistic appearance.
