Using an AI image enlarger just “guesses” what certain pixels should look like when you make the image larger, and the result looks blurry/out of focus on certain details, with unrealistically smoothened skin, and unnatural looking hair/beard/eye/teeth details. Best to avoid it.
If the original source is small and/or of poor quality, then it shouldn't be cut in the first place and you should either look for a bigger or better source or wait until one is available.
