I’ve not really had a lot of free time lately however, I have plans of adding further stadium edits for the most played European leagues including Italy, Scotland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal and Turkey

Hi @rabcp 

 

What would you suggest setting in the editor to build Mansfield Town's One Call Stadium to the nearest match so I can apply?

 

In game it has roof supports in all stands which isnt correct. All stands are 1 tier onto as well.

There is nothing that can be done for the One Call Stadium, the stadium editor is very basic, post 1 states what can and cant be changed.

@rabcp Apologies, it was why one of mine were taken down so i presumed it was related. When a small number of people use a file it doesnt effect much, but year in and year out this patch gets more popular, maybe too much so that they have no choice but to act. There are probably a lot of variables behind this decision 

 

No need to apologise, I believe there issue with the patch was 100% down to revenue as it both reduced the impact of there in game ads while possibly put companies of from paying to advertise in game. Like you say there may be other variables at play too.

Its gonna be SIgames loss cause I and many others I think will stop playing the game because if we can't mod anything anymore the game is useless

 

The modding community is no where near as big as it use to be, numbers are dropping and there is no new blood coming though. A bit like the “big 6” owners in the EPL I think SI view us as legacy players who are more hassle than their are worth and wouldn’t be too bothered if we stopped playing.

 

The core FM players don’t mod the game bar anything they can get from the steam workshop, look at any vlog or screenshot on social media, they are all un-modded, I’ve certainly noticed a significant decrease in dowloads of the adboard patch over the past decade, one of the first ever version had over 100,000 downloads, I don’t think any version in the last 4 years has had as much as 10,000.

Although it has happened, the main reason isn't because of modding itself, It's using copyrighted imagery (sponsers etc) and animated adboards. i know of one example where a sponser has asked SI to do something to stop their images being used, and I feel like others would have as well. hopefully we can still add our own as i am all for it

 

Copyright was not the reason given by SI, their reason was linked to the patch impacting on there revenue (advertising via bidstack), if it was down to copyright then they would be looking to remove other mods such as custom kits too.

 

I fear this a sign of things to come though, the press backgrounds don't work in FM22 and SI have confirmed that was an intentional change by them, that speaks volumes to me, I believe the days of being able to mod FM are coming to an end.

Sadly, I feel this is a sign of things to come, SI's reasoning was the patch impacts on their ability to make revenue (in game advertising) and on their ability to obtain licences. Personally, I can see their first point (though I don’t agree with forcing adverts on people who have paid for a full version of the game in order to make extra revenue) however, their second reason is bizarre as through the editor we can make unlicenced nations playable, surely that has a bigger impact?

 

I feel this is a worrying prescient and hope SI don’t go after other mods, my gut feeling is they will. I don’t know what the future holds, I have a feeling that SI will hard code video adboard’s from FM23 onwards, or at the very least change their format or size. Should that happen then FM22 will be my last FM and I will rely on data updates as I don’t want to use the out of the box soleless match engine.

 

I have poured 1000’s of hours into this patch since 2009 and it has been a real labour of love at times. However, over the past few versions, I have continually been asked the same questions which have been answered countless times, I regularly receive a barrage of PM’s and countless requests. Sadly, over the past few years many previous contributors seem to have vanished too. This has been draining and at times puts me of coming on to the forums, I thought long and hard about letting the patch die but too much of my and other peoples work has gone into it. It will be back I just don’t know where and when.

Note: For some reason no edits would save for either Celta Vigo or Real Betis, I have had to create new stadiums in the editor for them (using correct info) in order to make changes to thier stadium models. I have included mini stadium pics for these clubs using thier new stadium ID's.

I will not be looking at any non-European leagues any time soon, I would maybe consider single clubs though.

I followed your instructions and added the v1.1 file into the editor data folder but still can't access stadium changes

Can you also mix and match the colours of the tiers/levels? For example, here's San Siro:

 

As you can see, top right 1st tier is orange, top right 2nd tier is blue

 

No, this is not possible, only one colour throughout.

The game is from steam and I have 2 hard drives. I tried to do hd high definition and sd medium definition but it still doesn’t work, I had billboards even in 21 and they never gave me problems, I try to put those 21 in fm 22 ?

 

Can you post a screenshot of where you have installed the FM22 video adboards too

Can someone help me? I tried to redo the installation a lot of times but nothing, I keep seeing the black billboards, I tried to change the name from hd to sd and nothing, I put the graphics first high and then medium and nothing, I followed all the steps but still not going, please help me , thanks

 

Are you playing via steam, epic gaming or game pass?

 

Does your system have more than 1 hard drive? 

 

With the ’HD’ ‘SD’ trick ensure you try the following.

 

HD folder name - High graphic settings

SD folder name - Medium graphic settings

@rabcp Hi! This might be a stupid question but which xml file do you actually recommend that people use? I chose to go with the Clubs xml file and while the Champions League adboards are there when I am playing away matches (playing as Deportivo La Coruna in the Champions League), I cannot get the Champions League adboards to show up in my own stadium. Is this happenning because there's no way to override stadium specific adboards depending on which competition I am taking part in? Should I go with the No Clubs option to get competition specific ads at my own stadium?

Sadly, there is no way to override stadium specific adboard’s within the xmf file. What I do is play domestic matches using the club’s xml file and then switch to the no club’s xml file for European games. You can swap the xml files before proceeding to the match and there is no need to close and reopen FM22 in order to do this (as long as FM22 is booted with the clubs xml file).

Hello, thanks for this beautiful adboard work, but the video adboards of the Turkish Super League, bein.ivf and tsl.ivf, are from 3 seasons ago. It would be better if updates could be added for realism, thanks in advance.

Turkey is not a priority for me right now, there are lots of requests to work through and currently I am the only person making video ads.

Just wondering if there's any way to incorporate the club banners from (https://sortitoutsi.net/content/51652/club-banners-adboards-for-fm20) into yours. Or is it one or the other?

I use some banners but I am more strict with them and will only replicate banners that have a fixed location within stadiums.

Hi guys,

I'm really struggling with this, worked fine with last year edition. 

I'm on step 5. of instructions where you copy and paste the steam folder into application support. But there is already a steam folder that exisits in that directory. I've tried once to replace and that didnt work (and had to redownload FM) the second time i retried and Merged and that still didnt work.

Is there anyone at all who would be able to help? I'd be truly grateful.

If you are using a MAC I believe you need to hold the option key when mergimng folders, perhaps someone else can confirm?

I seem to be having the problem with video ads not working. Followed all instructions & tried both the clubs & no clubs xml with no success. My steam installation & game are both on a E drive not the C drive but I am getting the blank black video adboards?

I've no idea what the correct set up is when not using the C drive, I only have 1 hard drive on my system so I am unable to replicate and troubleshoot these issues.

Does this update removed the club banners and local ad board - i.e Blackburn Rovers dont have any Venky boards anymore on the FM22 update ?

All English ads are being updated and will be released in batches over the coming months, Blackburn Rovers will be included in this week’s update.

Do I need the pre-game editor for this or can I simply put the editor file in the editor data folder?

You just need to add the file to folder, unless you want to make edits of your own

The stadium editor is hidden within the FM22 pre game editor and can be unlocked by placing the attached file into this directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 2022\data

Once in the FM22 pre game editor search for a stadium, the stadium editor can then be accessed via the new stadium sides panel. through this menu we can make basic changes to the stadium models assigned to each stadium.



Here is a map showing which stand is which within the editor


Keep in mid this is a very limited editor and the only changes that can be made are the following:
Seat and rail colours
Seating and standing areas
Adding or removing stands
Adding or removing roofs
Position of player’s tunnel

The following cannot be changed:
Stadium textures/materials
Stand height/length
The number of tiers/levels in each stand
Executive boxes/TV Screens
Lighting
Background environment

the only way to avoid the black video ads in this case would be to make a new xml file removing all of the custom video ads and assigning the standard in game video ads which would be a significantly time consuming job

Video ads do not work with gamepass, this is due to Microsoft’s encryption and there is no work around

MAC via Steam. But I got it working now. it was the HD to SD fix that solved it.

As far as I know yes, but having looked at the sigames forums there seems to be a lot of people having difficulty adding graphics to game when playing via gamepass

My non static boards are also showing as black. graphics is set to high but my simatchviewer_uncompressed is not a folder its an fmf file? I'm on a mac. does that have anything to do with it?

The simatchviewer_uncompressed folder is included in the patch you need to copy it over to that location

Hi there, I can't install video ads for some time already (they are completely blue). I have a MAC. I think the problem is with this part of the instruction:

1. You said the location should be “Macintosh HD/Users/myusername/Library/Application Support”. But I don't even have the Library folder inside the /myusername/ it's in the “Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support” now. So what should be the correct location? 
2. Also you said about the epic games folder https://gyazo.com/d7734d78ce14a68e45e3c3406802daee but could you specify the same for the MAC please?

 

I dont understand what you are asking, are you playing via Epic games on a mac?

Sorry I had read  your question wrong. The static ads work with gamepass, however, the video ads do not due to encryption issues
