Not sure if that's what you're asking for but:
- I downloaded the last "enabled" with JUST the Messi change
- I started a save with JUST the Messi file activated in the editor data file
And here is the result:

EDIT: Ok, just reading your 2nd message. I'm glad you found the issue

He's making 30M euros/year NET. It is approximately 45M euros/year GROSS.

In this article, they mention Neymar is making 600.000 euros/week AFTER TAX (=537.000£/week).
I know it looks crazy, but Neymar earns approximately 800.000 £/week = 41,6M £/year GROSS (45M euros/year)

12.000.000 euros/ year, (1M euros/month)
I guess you may convert it in UK pounds weekly.

I quickly made it with the XE converter:
12M euros = 11M £
11M/52 = 210.000£/week

Thanks Rob, absolutely no rush at all. I understand your point of view though and can understand why people may prefer it like that.
The thing is I always start with no transfer budget and like to try to "freeze" the squads at the beginning. I worry that if all the contracts are reduced by one year, it may accelerate the "big" transfers process (Griezmann to Bayern, Lewandowski to Real, Benzema to United, etc... you get my point) and I prefer when this happen the lastest in game (even though there's no control on it).
Just wondering, is there a way to open the file in the editor so I won't have to bother no one with this? Since this is an XML document format and not a FMF, I can't acces it.

ByAzura, thanks mate, I'm certain of some mistakes in the salary (Dani Alves 12/14M, Messi, Neymar 45M, Cavani 10/12M, Thiago Motta , Aurier 6M, Dembele 12M euros/year...) but others that I'm not sure (Lukaku, Morata, Coutinho, Ibrahimovic, Benjamin Mendy, Bernardo Silva, Matic...). That's why I used "may" and thought people will be more knowledgeable than me as they play in the British Premier League.

Thank you guys

Hi, can you change Luis Fernandez role at PSG

He has been named sporting director for the youth academie at PSG, but the head of youth develelopment REMAINS Carles Romagosa I read his role in english websites but the translation is not really appropriate
Luis Fernandez is in charge of:
- convincing the youth to sign their 1st professional contract with the club, and stop leaving FOR FREE to other clubs like it happenned too often lately.
- getting connection with other amateur clubs in the Paris region, so PSG can sign 1st the future talents

His role is new and has been created for him, but Carles Romagosa continue to be in charge of the academie strategies and decisions
Since his role doesn't exist for the youth academie, can you give him a scout (or admministrator) at PSG?

Thank you

Hi, I'm wondering since I don't see any mention about it here, am I the only one who has Messi with a big wage decreased?

Messi used to get around 3,330,000 euros/month in the previous database, and earns "only" 1,700,000 euros/month now. I thought maybe you put the net wage, even though it should stay gross (we can see the before/after tax on the contract page), but Ronaldo is still paid 2,930,000 euros/month.

The same with Neymar, around 2,500,000 euros/month at Barcelona in the initial database, now 1,900,000 euros/month at PSG in your update, when he should be the highest earner (30M euros/year NET, which is around 45M/year gross..Meaning he's earning ALMOST the same as Pogba: 1,490,000 euros/month which didn't change between the original database and your update.

The same with Dani Alves with a wage of 311,000 euros/month in your database making him as one of the lowest earner at PSG, when he signed for 12M/year in real life??? And his wage was around 700,000 euros/month at Juve in the original database.

Again, the same with Thiago Motta with 284,000 euros/month gross in your database, when it was around 750,000 gross in the original database, reflecting more the reality (almost 800,000 euros/months).

And the list goes on, I've seen so many wage change on players which don' reflect the truth.

Thanks to highlight me if this is a mistake, or how can I fix this myself when your update is in XML document format, and not in FMF (so I can't open it with the editor). Thank you

Sorry to go back to it but am I the only one having this problem? Suarez being paid more than Messi or Neymar? Sergio Ramos or Toni Kroos' wage almost similar to Messi?

Ex of Dani Alves:
- real life: 14M euros/year at PSG, so 1.160.000 euros/month Source
- sortitoutsi update: 311.000 euros/month before tax (165.000 after tax).

The same with Neymar or Messi, they are paid half of what Ronaldo is earning (in the update) compare to in real life.
In EUROS monthly in the 17.3 original DB:
Tevez 2.964.000
Ronaldo 2.932.000
Bale 2.328.000
Lavezzi 2.076.000
Oscar 2.012.000
Suarez 1.950.000
Neymar 1.893.000 in the updated DB (initially 2.500.000 in 17.3 DB)
Messi 1.716.000 in the updated DB (initially 3.333.000 in 17.3 DB)
Kroos 1.676.000
Ramos 1.553.000
Witsel 1.473.000
Except Messi and Neymar, they're all untouched from the original 17.3 DB

I read in different news Lukaku earning between 200.000£ and 300.000£/week = 10 to 15M £/year = 11 to 16M euros/year.= between 900.000 to 1.330.000 euros/month
In my save with the updated DB, he earns 600.000 euros/month, and Ibrahimovic earning 660.000 euros/month (earning much less than Mikthitarian (800.000, Mata (900.000), De Gea (1M) and Pogba (1.5M))

Thanks to have a look at it. I can't open the file and change it myself in the editor

EDIT: I thought the minus 1 year contract was on a separate file. I started a new save and didn' activate the "reduced contract file" (neither the "increased player's age" one)
- The players signing a 5 year deal this summer ending in 2022 in real life have their contract ending in 2021 in game instead (Neymar, Lukaku, Morata, Aurier, Bernardo Silva, Walker...)
- and in 2022 instead of 2023 (Ceballos, Theo Hernandez, Forsberg, Davinson Sanchez, Benjamin Mendy, Lozano...)

BUT:
- Ndidi signing until 2022 in real life appears the same in game (2022)
- players extending their contract have the same date real life/updated database matching (2022: Bale, Lloris, Forsberg, Carrasco, Alli, Kane...)

Sorry Rob, as mentioned in a previous comment I made on page 2, I asked if the real contract dates could be restored and it seems that's what was to happen. I know the game starts in July 2016 but up to now, the sortitousi update has always took into account the real life data (end of contract year) and not the lenght (4 or 5 years deal). Meaning when a player signs a contract until June 2022, that's what I'd like to see in game, and not June 2021 just to match the initial start game. Keep in mind that even if the game starts in July 2016, the players' age match this date.

Is this a new direction with the sortitoutsi update? This opinion may or may not be shared by everyone but I just don't understand this as it makes the game "less" real for me. The Football Manager is a "simulation" based on real life data. It should match let's say Transfermakt website (in terms of contract ending dates) as a reference and not "adapted".

Again, I'm not complaining and just trying to be constructive here. Each year, I only swear by this website update MATCHING reality in terms of wages (approximately) and contract dates but not really keen on the minus 1 year.

Is there a way to have a DB with the real life contract dates? Thank you very much

If somebody wants to fix the problem manually, all they'd need to do is open the config in their faces and iconfaces folders with Notepad, copy any other config line and just change the UID to 19024412, as done in the attached screenshot. The changes in iconfaces config are along the same lines.

Thank you Mons, it fixed it perfectly

Was it just me or was Neymar missing in the config-file? Easy enough to just create my own, but I'm assuming people will start asking about it soon

Thanks mate, I noticed that too and was about to ask then I read your comment. Neymar pic is not in a cut-out style.

For the mods: I know it will be corrected for the 9.11 release, but any chance to do it for the 9.10 and re-upload it? Thanks

It is now possible to play without changing the players ages simply by unticking the "Increased Player Ages" box when starting a new game.

Thank you very much Rob, you're the man!!! I imagine it took a lot of your time to apply the change.

Know that we are a lot to appreciate your contribution to the FM community

I understand and I might rethink it, yes every single players age is changed by one year.

What's your main problem with the age change, is it just that CA won't develop as well?

Thanks Rob. Like a lot of users, we download a new database to update the new squads and reflect the reality after the transfer window. The reason I'm not keen on the new addition is:

- ALL the players are 1 year older with an unchanged CA, meaning a lack of improvement for the same period of time .To correct that, you'll have to change the CA as well. The CA/PA increase/decrease is very subjective and something that I like to do myself in the editor according to my opinion. If you had to take care of it: 1) the users could disagree with your opinion, 2) it will be EXTREMELY time consuming for you to apply all the change, 3) it will stop some users to choose this database. I have always favoured the sortioutsi update because it NEVER touched the CA/PA up to now. In addition to be very complete and mostly accurate, it makes the difference over all others for me.

I completely understand the idea of +1 year older to reflect real players age RIGHT NOW in real life, but I think it would have been relevant if the start game was in July 2017, but this is not the case and a new save starts in July 2016.

- ALL the players have 1 year less on their contract compare to their real life one. .

For a lot of people, Football Manager helps us to have information about players (age, contract dates, wage...), and this new addition disturbs me a bit. ALL players' date of birth are increased by 1 year, and all their contract ending decreased by 1 year. For me, it doesn't reflect the reality anymore. So to speak, if Neymar is born in 1992 and has a contract ending in 2022 with PSG, that's what I like to see in the game (even if it makes him a 6 years contract instead of 5 since the game start in 2016) and not a "new" birthdate in 1991 with a contract ending in 2021 if you understand me. I like to know players by "age generation" (born in 1995, 1996...) and this confuses me.

Again, I love the sortitoutsi updated database because it is the best one out there. I guess some people would love the new player's age (+1) and new contract (-1) system, but it is just not for me. I hope you'll get my point and you'll be able to separate it in a different file, so we'll have the choice to include it or not.

Hopefully, you'll take into consideration this message. Your updated database always gives a "second life" to Football Manager in September. Moreover and as you know, every time FM comes out in November, the game is flawed with some bugs and become really playable and enjoyable a couple months later. Again, the sortitoutsi data update is the only way for me to keep playing on a stable FM17 with the 2017/18 data until FM18 is patched and fixed.

Thank you for your attention.

Unfortunately not at this time

What a shame about the 1 year older added and that you didn't make it in a separate file. At least, we would have had the choice to include it or not. I've been a big fan of your updates for all the previous FM versions compare to any others on the FM dedicated websites because yours is complete, the players contract and transfers are up to date, and that YOU DIDN'T TOUCH the CA and PA of the players.

Unfortunately, I'm not very fan of this new addition. Just hope you'll make it in a separate file for the next editions, the same as you used for "removing loans" or "promotions and relegations" for example.
Any chance I can change this new feature in the editor myself or did you actually add 1 year to EVERY SINGLE PLAYERS one by one?

Thanks guys.

In the download, Ben Arfa still has the same wage as he had in Nice (around 100,000 euros/ month), but he signed for PSG on a free agent and got the same wage as Cavani (around 800,000 euros/months), which is a MASSIVE wage difference. Can you replace the old wage by the new one (around 132,000 british pounds/week). I tried to do it myself for my save with the editor, but I can't open an XML Document (it doesn't appear as a FMF file).
