Hi All, I've just posted an update of this mod for FM20. This update has a choice of either the pack with extra video adboards or a smaller, less-graphics intensive pack that uses only the default SI video adboards. Thanks as always to rabcp, jeffroberts, etc for allowing me to use their custom video adboards. Check it out over at....

Full instructions are there. As always this mod does not attempt to copy the exact advertisings or ads you'd see at a stadium (for that, use rabcp's excellent mod). Rather, it's just a way to showcase a club's fan support, tifos and banners, and supporter culture, and hopes to add a bit of flavor to the match engine.

I'd post an update in the original post, but as I mentioned earlier, since I didn't actually create the post I don't have the ability to edit it! Hopefully the moderators here can add the correct link.

It should work on PC as well. If you just want to create your own images, you can just replace the images in the folders with your own (just keep the names the same and you won't even have to touch the xml file), and you can use any image software for that. Images should be about 1024x128 to fit best, basically a very long rectangle.

Hi richard, jason aka strangerthankindness here. just logged on after many months away and noticed your comment about cska sofia not showing up in the Custom Banner adboard pack. I think it's because SI changed the ID# of the club in the past couple of years, due to the club's change of ownership and struggle over who owns the rights. (There are now TWO CSKA Sofia's as you may know).

If you're comfortable going into the fm.xml file in the ads folder, search for cska sofia and changed the list ID# to 22069955. That should fix the problem!

This also came up with OS Belenenses in the Portuguese first division. New owners took it over but weren't allow to use its history, so the new club is still in the first division, while the old one has been tossed into the Lisbon amateur leagues, but at least is the "true Belenenses," with its history, old records/trophies, etc. The SI ID# was then changed.

I may post an update to this mod for FM20, have been using it for awhile and sharing with friends, so those issues will be fixed there as well. Thanks.

Hi ArnDaddy, yes the other LIGAMX teams should all be working properly. I just cued up a test game with LIGAMX and nearly all the teams displayed properly. The FM08 images appear when the file can't find the correct files, so have you made sure the graphics are in the correct spot? As SI changed where the graphics go in FM20, the ads folder with all the images should now be here....

Library/Application Support/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2020/graphics/pictures (so with the ads folder, it should be ....graphics/pictures/ads (and then all the various africa/asia/concacaf/europe/etc folders therein)

And then the ads xml file should be in a separate folder, here... Library/Application Support/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2020 (so it should read.....Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2020/ads/xml

The video ads folder called 'simatchviewer_uncompressed" should be in a different area: Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Football Manager 2020/data/simatchviewer_uncompressed

If these routes aren't correct then the xml file can't find the correct graphics, leading to either black adboards around the stadiums (for video ads) or FM08 banners all over the stadium (for static ads).

Please make sure to download that more updated FM_19 version I posted above, as that has more up-to-date images.

Thanks for your messages and interest. Sorry for delay in responding to everyone; I've been off the board for quite some time, and am just logging on now. To tell you the truth I don't know how this got onto the FM2020 boards, I had made this years ago for FM14-15 and updated it again for FM18, but never bothered creating one for FM20. It does work with it, but I'm barely playing either FM20 or any FM anymore due to some life changes (kids, man). I didn't actually upload this here to FM2020, the mod was indeed 'created by strangerthankindness' but someone else must have placed it on this thread? I didn't even know that was possible.

Interestingly, the link it's sending people to, FM_18_2, isn't even the most updated version. I did create and share an update for FM19 on another site, which has even more teams and leagues....

I don't know if it's allowed to mention other sites, but I've put this on both SI Forums and FMSCOUT, and it has more detailed instructions than what is here, which will hopefully address some of the issues people are having. (Especially that 'starting out' glitch, it does seem like you have to shut down and restart the program to get them to appear, I think because it's during start-up that the game reads and processes the ads xmf file, and knows where to find them). Just do a search under adboards and you should find the uploads with more detailed instructions. You can also find more detailed info on how to ad your own team if it's not in there, or even more teams in the division you're playing in. Also, this mod works under the same principle and rules of rabcp's great adboard pack that can be found here; if you follow those general directions, it should be the same. (This mod pretty much ignores realistic ads in favor of club-specific imagery drawn from scarves, supporters clubs, tifos, banners, etc).

To answer some of the questions:
FM08 adboards show up when there's a home game with a team that does not have graphics in the pack, ie. your Mineros de Zacatecas and many other of the Mexican 2nd division clubs. (I tried to get most of the LIGAMX teams in there, at least). It could also happen if you're using a separate adboard pack (like the great rabcp one) and the ID's are competing.

Regarding the iTunes stuff, StuartNG, I have no idea on that one, you're making me feel old, man; I had no idea you could do something with iTunes and FM. Also, I have no idea if this works with FM Touch or on iPad, as I don't know if the files are stored in different areas? Sorry I can't help with that.

Apologies again for anyone frustrated with it, but hope that everyone who's downloaded it has gotten it to work, and is enjoying it. (It just hit 25k downloads from the sites its been shared on, which is a good milestone). I wish I could help more, but I've not touched FM2020 in about four months and my son needs to be put to bed right now.

If you've downloaded the FM2014 Ad Board patch w/the "Club adboards" option, go to your SI/FM14/graphics/pictures/ads folder. you'll see a list of various continents and then countries; most countries then have a folder for various competitions, and one for "clubs." Under the clubs you'll find individual png's for each club; currently they are just ads (nike, heineken, puma, etc), but you can switch them out for club-specific images instead. This all works b/c of the work that the original uploaders did in the fm.xml ads file, which creates a map to all these images. Like so....

In this case, "arsenal_adds_1" links to a png of an ad, but you can just replace it with an arsenal fan sign, supporter flag, or a picture of you and your mates even. Whatever you prefer. Then restart the game, and voila, there your image is, on one of the signboards around the stadium or in the stands.

Jeffro, thanks for the feedback. I've finished the Premier League, La Liga, and a third of Serie A and Ligue I, as well as a handful of Champions League regulars, and would be happy to share. Everything's not "perfect" yet of course; some of the images are a little flattened or fattened aspect-ratio-wise, so I'll need a bit more time. Also I just became a father, so I'm just doing this as a little mental break between cleaning up poo and keeping the baby alive, lol.

Great work, tv_capper and everyone else who's contributed to this. I've been modifying it myself slightly and replacing a lot of the ads (or their png files) with banners, supporter's flags, and ultra tifos for individual clubs, to give each stadium its own distinct look.

I've created images for all the Premier League and La Liga BBVA clubs (the two leagues I'm playing in now), as well as various Champions League regulars. Don't know if anyone's interested or not; I'd be happy to share or add to the main pack. To create your own, just go into the graphics/pictures/ads folders, then choose whichever club's folder you'd like, and replace an existing png image in that club's folder with a similarly named png you've created. I found most of the pix that I used online, from either PES mods, ultras websites, and even converting pix of scarves, flags, etc.

Thanks again to tv_capper and the others who created the main file and opened my eyes to the possibilities here.
