#566215 Question About Meme Tactics

Cheesy/Meme tactics are ones that don't care how realistic the tactics are/would be, just tries to screw with the ME to get the results. Like you'd want fullbacks behind wingers, but wingbacks behind them work better on FM, so the meme tactics use wingbacks

Popular examples of meme tactics are honestly Knapp's. No offense to him, he's good at making them, but they'd designed with cheesing the ME in mind more than anything else

Just curious what makes the common meme tactic pairings so effective compared to how you'd expect them to function (SS+AF for another example)

So, after looking after a lot of meme tactics, the ones designed to try to break the ME without care for realism of the tactic or the sort, I noticed a few things (and I'm not judging meme tactics or those who use them, do your thing)

But what I noticed were a lot of running themes in them and was curious why come of these combinations would potentially be more effective than they "should" be?

Some popular combinations:
- WIngbacks behind Wingers
- Shadow Striker + Advanced Forward
- All BPDs for center backs

I also notice a TON of instructions in them (play out of defense, run at defense, work into box, etc). I assume these are more done to try to be busy and "confuse" the AI, but that's just speculation

Just curious why some unusual combinations are what works so well for cheesing, or if it's simply because they Are unusual combinations and thus are harder for a ME to account for?

So if another team accepts a transfer offer, I can have my GM conduct the contract negotiations

If a player is on a free, is there any way to have my GM conduct negotiations? Or do I have to first add the player as a target for some reason?

Started a new MLS game & one of my team's Designated Players isn't that good (at least not good enough to warrant using a DP spot on him for the next 3 seasons of his contract). So, got to the March Waiver Draft & figured I wouldn't register the player in hopes that another team would draft him. But when I started the draft, my player wasn't listed as being draft-eligible

Can Designated Players be put in the waiver draft? I assume not since the player wasn't registered on my team, wasn't injured & wasn't listed as a starter or sub on my tactics screen....but I when I googled the MLS Designated Player rules, I didn't see anything in them stating that Designated Players couldn't be waived

That has to be done manually by disabling the small flag config

Go into the small flag folder ( C:\Users\yourname\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2014\graphics\pictures\flags\small) and rename the config to config_bak for instance then save it and reload the skin and the association small logo should display.

Just did this & I've still got emblems. Tried doing it for the large flags as well & I'm still stuck with emblems

Edit: The large flags work now, small ones are still emblems, which is more annoying since the small ones are the ones I want to change
