Hi taz71.  

 

It is considered a courtesy to ask other skinners for permission and provide credits after you've borrowed their work to include in a skin for public release.  I heartily recommend doing so.

 

This. 1000%…. I can see scoreboard MOD and Club vision and instantly tell you where they're originally from if you need to go and find someone to credit/request permission….

I've got as far as identifiying they exist here: simatchviewer-pc\art\environments\props\cut_scenes\trophy\textures 

But I lack the skillset to do any editing - in theory each model will correspond to trophy selecte din editor ‘National_cup_01’ for example. So you could edit to custom files for different trophy visuals. Be great if anyone with the skillset is interested in exploring.

You can fix, if you get your manager UID you can map a face through config files like other newgens. Must be to do with the ‘r-’ edit they made to UIDs in the update.

Yeah this seems to be missing, i've tried going back to the original skin to see if it was related but nothing. WHY can they only do updates that also break other things??

Has anybody successfully tested with FM24? I tried and holidayed but my regen hasnt appeared. Unsure if its user error or FM24 change/bug. Helpful if anyone can confirm so I'm not wasting time if its bugged currently for '24 Thanks

Hi all - I've seen custom podiums, manager attire and other parts of the game - but the generic 3D trophies have always been one I'd love to improve. 

 

I know in Editor you can see ‘National Cup 1’ and list of trophy types for tournaments. That therefore corresponds to a texture/graphic file to be used,  and I've seen FM have done some significant upgrades to the licensed in game trophies this year. Has anyone identified/played around with the generic ones? Interested to see how editable they are and if (therefore) you could create comp trophy packs in a similar way to podiums in the past for example.

It's Created IDs in a custom DB (Sorry comment might be in wrong thread/topic!) - Applying image examples below:

In Game - cant show with unique ID as they are just person type Retired Person, But example where they previously listed to win an award 

An here they are in Pre Game Editor:

 

More general Q is if the person type is ‘Retired person’ will the game still map faces in the same way or is it different? Because I've got plenty of working faces across packs but cant see why these arent pulling through?

Hi Guys - created some retiered people as legends in a fictional DB save.

 

Trying to assign some faces to them for when refrenced as previous awards winners etc but doesnt want to pull through. Standard faces config with their Unique IDs created using FMXML - does this not work on retired persons / is there a tweak to config needed?

Nearly always same day, however in past years there have been some major editor bugs particularly if you edit advanced rules (eg. league formats) but hopefully not this year with such minimal move ons between FM22 and FM23.

 

I'm hoping for some potential to more easily edit existing continental competition formats (always a major headache vs domestic editing!) with the introduction of UEFA licenses but fear it might go the other way…

IF you've used the Create a Club Feature in game  - it won't work. The code in game to overwrite an existing teams means the id Mapping won't work, so you're stuck with defaults + whatever crest you imported at the start of the game.

 

If you use pre-game editor instead then you can follow the method above to assign Kit graphics & other things (eg. stadium ID and an image an so on…)

Editor every time, means you can add Kit Packs, Stadium Images etc. to really make it like a real club. 

There is quite alot to consider when doing that to get it right so will need trial an error, but lots of help on forums like this and Editors Hideaway on SI forums.

I've been looking for a guide on how to do this so far I've got:

  • Add Background Selector Panels from another skin with it
  • Add Global Panels file from another skin with Background Selector
  • Add Background Graphic files with name/numbering to match Selector Config
  • Add line of code for the button to the Client Object Browser Panel

 

This final piece is the problem I have - Where in the code does it need to go and what needs to be added? Anybody got a ‘dummies guide’ or step by step to help? Every time i've found people asking it's like a secret topic where nobody really answers fully but several skins have it so it's clearly something people know how to make… 

 

I'm trying to update the appropriate code into this config file. Hope someone can help me out!

I've made a sponsor board (sponsor_boards_[al].dds) for the club I'm starting a save with (Dundee), and placed it into the extracted …\Football Manager 2022\data\simatchviewer-pc\environments\shared textures\default_interiors\ and we'll see how it works… when I have time to play FM.

 

Did this updated file path have any luck?

I think something regarding the UIDs has changed in FM22. It is working for training staff, doctors, etc now instead of Personal Assistent and Press Officer.

 

That is what i'd heard/seen - I can't stand looking at my bushy eyebrowed regen press officer, would be great if anyone can shed any light on which UID's are being used or any other ways to identify the Unique ID's to replace them!

Ok, kits created and working fine EXCEPT. My away kit is using White numbers, despite the in game kit specifying black numbers and outlines. IS this a FM22 bug or something wrong with the 3d kit set up?

Just been trying to update the config range for FM22 but without success.  I've tried using some of the files existing for this for the Personal Assistant and Player Liason Officer faces. Had no issues in the past and I've tried to update the Config to search from 2002010000

<record from="1" to="graphics/pictures/person/2002010000/portrait"/>

etc. through to 

<record from="14256" graphics/pictures/person/2003036431/portrait"/>

 

I know from the staff panel this is capturing the UID used for my Club Doctor (Also hidden personnel) but it doesnt seem to be helping with the other two? Any ideas the ranges or if i've made an amateur error in the config update?

Yes there will be no English club ads in this release, as the xml files are new it would have taken over a week to code and test them and I can‘t justify that time when I’m planning on replacing most of them. there absence is a case of short term pain for long term gain

 

Makes perfect sense - how long until you think it'd be ready? Is it something people could make new banners to contribute to?

create a cut_scenes folder /mesh folder /textures folder if u don't have one put the file u have downloaded into the mesh folder and put the mesh folder into cut_scenes folder then put that into textures folder 

 

is the file path 

Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2021\mesh\cut_scenes\textures

or

Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2021\textures\cut_scenes\mesh 

 

Because this comment contradicts the original post file path? Might explain why its not working…

When it comes to playing a game, my chelsea kits don’t work when playing in Europe, When playing at home they are just plain blue and likewise when playing away, any ideas why? Thanks


In Chelsea Kit Section they have loads of different ones for each competition that over-rides the one added for default home. You'll find they often dont work for FA Cup or League Cup either from memory. I think you can go into this and edit either in the in game editor or pre game editor so they don't have ones that vary by comp. Then re-tick the 'allow licensed kits' and should be problem solved. Same goes for the 3D Kits if you have them.

For kit makers;

Here's the first basic layout of FM20 3D kit. In my personal opinion, it's just terrible. A round collar in game needs to be drawn almost like a "V" to get it round. Back number and player name are oversized and badly placed so no space for sponsors between collar and player name. Texture mapping on shorts is a mess that is hard to understand. Whoever made this, he certainly doesn't care about details.

Also, not a problem for itself, but it needs to be pointed out that left and right sleeves switched places, so pay attention when remaking half-half designs for F20
