And he signed dud's like Alan Smith, Geremi, Cacapa and Viduka - all contributed hugely in the wrong way in the season we got relegated.

To be honest it's impossible for teams like that to come as high nowadays anyway in the current PL, he's mainly tasked with keeping teams steady and competitive in the league on more often that not a limited budget. Which he guarantees every time.

The Chronicle is outstanding. They're actually blaming Pardew for the second half of the season. And praising Carver for keeping us up. And suggesting that Carr has a 100% success rate.
"A year ago an agent who worked with Newcastle told me that United’s scouting team wanted technical, attacking players who could deliver excitement on-the-pitch" - Yet Pardew insisted on shite players. Carr apparently wanted Hazard, and Pards insisted on Karl Henry.
They blame Ashley/Pardew for everything. Whilst praising Carr, Carver and Charnley regardless of terrible they do their job.

Credit where it's due at least he's not Steve fucking Bruce.

It wouldn't be a long sustained period of success though, it'd be a flash in the pan - he's been completely mediocre since then.
I'm baffled by the Chronicle's support of Carver and Charnley. Both completely clueless.
Carr I understand a bit more as he's been good in the past - I think he's under pressure for the 'perfect deal' now - whereas if we were allowed to spend a bit more he'd have continued his run of good signings (possibly). I think he's made more good signings than bad ones though - players like Marveaux and Mbiwa are good players they just needed a manager who would believe in them and play them in the correct positions for a sustained period of good form.
If we got Aubameyang/Lacazette/Grenier in etc.

Charnley is still inept. Presumably he's only supported by the Chronicle because he actually gave an interview to them, which Ashley hasn't done and I don't think ever will. Carr is hit-and-miss, although it wouldn't have surprised me if there was something like a Hazard/Henry false equivalency. I think him and Pardew believed in different things, hence why a number of signings didn't work.
Poe
Whereas Carr is more modern and was signing people like Cabella and Marveaux who won't fit in a 4-4-2 in any position.
A McClaren appointment would be completely underwhelming and lacks ambition.

Either way the Chronicle sweeped away all of the flops in recent years. And apparently it is him pushing for McClaren.
Good to know appointing the guy with no experience is seen as the ambitious choice. The guy who's actually won trophies is the least ambitious.
Anyway my choice out of the apparent contenders is;
Vieira > Laudrup > Garde > McClaren.
Regarding Charnley - I don't think it's so much the interview, I think it's more he's willing to tell them things, ie he's their source for a lot of stories.

Jonas should have been treated A LOT more respected.

Charnley to have flown out personally? E-mail? Text?

Sums up Newcastle in the past five years in all honesty, this.

£1000 is fuck all to Mike Ashley.
Or they possibly could have been told when the decision was made - which was most likely before they left for their holidays.
It's just a cunt move - every little thing they do wrongly. Ridiculously inept.
