Which one is best for football manager? With all of the facepacks downloaded and everything. Will they all run OK?

That should tell you everything you need to know

I don't know what the deal is with finance but because you don't got a 'retina display' you can spec them out a lot better for the money you put down. You also get an i7 vs i5 and the portability and weight of the Air is great for me.
There's no doubt that the retina displays are good looking but I don't think your missing out on much not having one, my advice would be to go in to an Apple Store and have a look and see what you think.
There's no doubt though that if you're primarily concerned with getting the best laptop for FM you're going to get a better spec'd Windows laptop for cheaper. But if you've got your heart set on a Macbook (and they're great) they'll all run FM fine.

I got one like this about a year ago (well it was the Z50 which I guess was last year's model and slightly shitter) and can't fault it. Littlewoods are intrest free (well they're not 'actually' interest free cause they basically charge a higher price then other stores to make up for that interest) so you should be all right. You can probably find something better on there if you look around

I am not too fussed about getting another Macbook as tbh, I only really use my laptop for FM. Please can people recommend a good Laptop or Macbook which can hold a shit load of leagues on FM and still work fine? On my laptop, I can only load up England and it's still slow. I can't even watch YouTube videos or anything when FM is running in the background.
In terms of budget, I'd say I have about £700-800 absolute tops.
Thanks.

I run a Late 2013 13" Retina and it loads up FM fine (I do untick the Retina display option in FM settings for this, having it ticked bogs everything else down and prevents multi-tasking).

CPU, as that gives you the processing power.
Hard Drive speed is also important, as if you have a slower HDD then it means read/write times are impacted, somewhat making a top quality CPU being under cut. SSD will give you a performance increase and I imagine laptops will come with these more commonly now?
RAM is important, but only to a degree. You're not going to see any sort of significant performance increase in having 16GB over 8GB, which would be more than enough for FM in general. However, it depends how you play the game as well; i.e. loading all leagues etc. The biggest factor with RAM will be it's speed, similar to that of a HDD. You're better off with say 8GB of RAM that is quicker than 16GB of RAM which is slower, if you want performance.

What do people think?

The current laptop I have isn't the quickest for FM (half a star ffs with usually one league loaded) and runs quite slow.
They had another one which was £459 (16GB, 1TB) but I missed out on it.
Yes I'm well aware it's Windows 8, should I be looking for a Windows 10 or it doesn't matter too much?

No I don't think so - how important is SSD for FM?
Eric Portapotty
It's more expensive than a hard disk drive for the space you're getting but it makes everything so much faster really.

I've also been taking a little nosey at this one as well.

You get what you pay for really and that bundle is really cheap and the seller may not be completely reputable. If you have access to finance then give PC Specialist a visit and play around on the configurators.

This was another one I had been looking at from Argos but again, I'm not hundred percent.

Jan.
Edit look at the ones at around 6 ton, and edit the fancy towers etc from them, it does knock the price down quite a bit.

I'd say that's even worse cause they won't even know what the spec mean and just trust their 'gaming pc' tag or something without knowing what they're getting.
They're an easy option if you can pick out good components as they build it for you and offer finance but you can get much better / cheaper somewhere else.
