If I remember correctly we tried to sign him and instead signed Hugo Viana, who never really fit again. Maybe Ronaldo would've been like that if he'd wound up at SJP.
True but I guess its a similar principle. It's a circular thing given that, at the same time this furore first begun ahead of the Arsenal-MCFC game, there were protestations from Liverpool fans they were being charged similarly AOT figures. The amazing one was the Southampton fans being charged £53 for the opening day outing at MCFC.
Ticket pricing is a mess across the board anyway. I suppose it's discussed in circles almost every week/month/year but any further rises and surely you'll see more empty seats. Be a bit much too given the bumload of cash Sky & BT are throwing at the league next year.

If tickets were reasonable, people would go to games rather than watch them on TV.
Pippadoc
That's rubbish
After a quick search, it appears the league average %age attendance last year was over 90%. In addition the big teams that tend to get the most TV time have average attendances even closer to 100%. So they wouldn't be affected much by dropping ticket prices.
Plus, I'll take a stab in the dark and say the average viewing figure for a PL game is far far higher than the empty attendance in whatever stadium is hosting the game. So the amount of extra people that would go to the game thanks to cheaper tickets would have a small effect on the viewing figures.

The overseas thing doesn't really apply cause pretty much all games are available to watch for anyone outside the UK, Its just us that get shafted because of rules put in place years ago when people generally supported the team nearest to them or people just didn't leave the place they were brought up.

Keeping an eye on Reading-Villa. Reading went ahead but could only hold on for a minute - crucial game.

Saying that Townsend and Jenas did score some brilliant strikes today.

Rubbish. Most people accept he's doing a good job, whilst at the same time acknowledging that his spending seems incredibly risky and hypocritical considering the comments he made when he first took the job.

It'd be a lie to say he deserves no credit - what I'm saying is that we'd get the amount of credit multiplied tenfold and then rammed down our throats for time immemorial.

Redknapp has done a very good job so far and QPR have a very good chance of staying up, if he manages to pull it off then he should definitely be in the running for Manager of the Year.

It's probably the opposite tbf, the media go into a wankathon about him and then fans over-react the other way.
I tend to agree with that second sentence though.

Spurs fans "Luis Suarez, you know what you are". Ironic from a group of fans who call themselves Yids.
Feck. Spurs don't really deserve that, but we should have taken more of our chances.
