Watching it live, it was brilliant. The first actually human moment I've seen in any of the conferences.

Amazing how Microsoft have made it so easy for Sony.

Essentially "Shit the Xbox One does we don't do".

I'll still get the Xbox.

I don't buy used games and I always have an internet connection. That's the only real benefits I see.

Also, why are both consoles so fucking ugly? The PS4 especially.

I prefer Sony's pursuit of developers to make the console more friendly to them. Microsoft seems vastly more focused on going for the popular dollar. There won't even be an indie game system on Xbox this time round, whereas Playstation will allow people to self-publish. I mean that would mean not getting some of the most innovative games out there at the moment.

And yeah, there's the base value reason: most people I know are saying they are planning on getting a Playstation. I want to be connected with the people I like playing games with and if I went with an Xbox One I'll probably have to make a load of new friends.

My persistence with Sony this generation has paid off \o/

Apparently you have to have PS+ to get online on the PS4, but if you're getting a PS4 and not planning on getting PS+ anyway then you're a fucking idiot, it's insanely good value for money. Glad I stayed up to watch it live, was brilliant when they announced they supported used games, never seen a reaction like it.

I just can't understand why Microsoft are forcing people into having an internet connection for single player.

Well, I can.

All games are downloaded to console's hard drive. If they didn't include the 24 hour check in then you could download the game, then give it to your friend, who could play it off the disc Or if you trade the game in, you still don't have a copy of it on hand.

It's really simple to understand why they're doing it.

You cant play XboxOne games of the disc though, they could quite easily have a code system like PC games and it wouldn't need to authenticate online.

I did the same thing.

Hopefully the PS4 will be out before FIFA 14 comes out because that's really the only game I play regularly.

It wont be, Fifa's coming out on PS3/360 as well so i imagine it'll be out the same time its always out

Unless the code is authenticated online ,otherwise it's pointless. The whole point is that if it didn't authenticate then you could just install to the hard drive and then give the disc to someone else and nothing would happen. The console is designed to run the games from the hard drive, that's a core framework they use.

If you were just to use an authentication code then there would be no way of being able to use the game on other consoles or logins.

Hmm, either way its a dumb system. Also the fact they're making out they are doing it for gamers is laughable, id rather have to change disks to play games and still be able to do what i wanted with said game than have the dumb restrictions and not have to swap out disks.

The PS4 isn't region locked so theoretically you could buy one from America and I think the exchange rate means it'd be cheaper.

Doubt you'd get it through Customs without getting taxed though

PS4 for me, easily.

Got The Last Of Us earlier, certainly lives up to the hype, stunning game. Going to dip my toes into the online part of it soon.

The last of us - nice game, not too hard though. Already played it through in 1 day yesterday. The Klickers are bit scary indeed.

Major problem with autosaving is making people lose hours of progress, pretty annoying. Hopefully they will have it sorted soon.

ShopTo cocked up my Last Of Us preorder and Tesco didn't have any instock but luckily its on PSN and the price was the normal retail price as well, hope this is a sign of things to come for the next gen and digital games. Also its the first game to do the instant play thing so you download 200mb and start playing while it downloads in the background.

That's why I don't see all the fuss over the Xbox One and used games. Within a couple years most console games will be downloaded anyway.
