Clearly the whole thing has been manufactured. From the roof (clearly wanting their best players back) to the very dodgy way the FIFA referee checked the pitch. They should be forced to forfeit the match if it does not go ahead tomorrow

Danny Rose sent off? What a nonsense. Serbia ought to be thrown out of all football competitions until further notice, certainly at Under-21 level, but I'm sure they'll get a slap on the wrist.

Apparently, Serbia are saying Danny Rose stuck his middle finger up at the crowd after the goal, which started everything off.

Also, Serbian players are saying they did not hear any racist abuse (they would obviously say that), but Serbia's Milivojevic tweeted: "They provoked & laughed at the crowd & they want not to be punished.It doesn't go that way."

I call bullshit on Milivojevic comments. Even if Rose did stick his finger up at the crowd I imagine it was a reaction to the fact they had been monkey chanting since they came out for their pre-match warm-up.

It's sickening and was frankly quite scary watching it all unfold with the Serbian players and staff running to attack the English team at the final whistle just to compound things further.

I think they need to face a double whammy - a) Racist chanting & b) violent behaviour

"It started when we went out for the warm-up," Rose told Sky Sports News. "I told Wigs (Steve Wigley, assistant manager) what was happening and he told me to try and get through it, that it would be dealt with after the game.

"The fans started with monkey chants and in the second half two stones hit me on the head as I went to get the ball for a throw-in.

"After about 60 minutes, my mind wasn't on the game. I was angry. It was so hard to concentrate that I made a few mistakes.

"When we scored, after 90 minutes' abuse, I obviously expressed my emotions. The next thing I knew, all the Serbian players surrounded me, started pushing me, and then a brawl broke out.

"I remember getting slapped twice and then I got ushered away. That's when I kicked the ball - and the referee sent me off. I don't understand -the game had finished by then but he still sent me off for kicking the ball.

"They have to be banned. I don't understand how else they can learn from it, they have to be banned."

Being unemployed means I watch a lot of day time television. I was extremely disappointed to learn ITV's usually stellar day time schedule was to be interrupted by England football, something I have abstained from since 2010. As a joke I decided to watch this afternoon's match, to see what I've "missed". Apparently England are still terrible. Shocked.
