Spent today seeing friends finish the Help For Heroes ride from Paris, met Mark Cavendish and Jeremy Clarkson and had a chat with them both for abit which was nice. Highlight of the day though was in the Union Jack Club talking to a WW2 veteran who had helped build the bridge over the Kwai, his stories were amazing.

Should be illegal being told you can't get a shit/casual job because you don't have a car.

I wouldn't be able to afford a car and be applying for an awful zero hour contract with night shift and early morning shift patterns.

You are giving them a license to shaft you there even if you did have a car.

They want you to have a car so you can drive in at a moments notice to suit their whims. Best off out of it.

Speaking of jobs, I need one badly right now. Bored out of my fucking mind and I need money.

Same story as usual though, the only jobs that get advertised either have ludicrous demands for previous experience or are the typical garbage sales jobs.

I guess going from business to business in the local business-park leaving my CV would be a decent idea if it wasn't for the fact that my CV is shit.

Truly spoken like some privileged, over-educated twat right there.

I'd take a job like that in a second.

A zero hour contract, that means when the company has no work that week, you don't come to work. You have no come back. You have to work whatever they want you to and at their convenience. You have no job security, why would you want to take that?!

I've worked since I was 16 (I'm now 23), mostly in retail and have witnessed this shafting time and time again.

I am from a working class family and went to a shit school. I scraped into uni and only did so with a hefty student loan. My parents are able to help me out with my masters fees thankfully and I've been awarded a full scholarship to do my PhD.

Privileged? No. Overeducated? Maybe. Twat? Probably.

Because 99 times out of 100 any job is better than no job.

If your boss has no hours then it is as good as no job.

Franck, remember that time you said you wouldn't work at McDonalds?

A zero hour contract is fine for me at the moment and I don't think this job is trying to exploit me, it's just the buses don't run early enough. I'm more annoyed how there is a very few jobs in my town and I can't make a short trip to a town only a few miles away.

Hopefully my parents will offer lifts.

It's still a job on paper, which means that you will have something in your CV and technically won't be unemployed when you apply for a different job.
In general it's a whole lot easier for someone who's already employed to get a new job than it is for someone who is unemployed, especially those who are long-term unemployed.

Not because I think I'm "too good" for it, I'm just not cut out for the type of working conditions that'd come with it.

Same with sales jobs, tried it before and realised I'm simply not cut out for that type of work.

If you haven't got a permanent resident visa yet you should ask them to pay for that rather than the wage rise.

Really regretting that I didn't choose the electrician program at school when I was 16 now, would have been making a solid £2500 a month (with plenty of opportunity to double that through under-the-table work) right now in a field that offers more job security than almost any other if I had.

Would have been wasting my potential, but it's not as if I didn't manage to do that anyway.

Having worked door sales, I'd probably prefer telesales if I was forced to work sales again.

Long time no see, I know, blah blah

Someone posted a thread about a game in which the goal was taking a chick to bed. It happened about 3 years ago or something on this very same forums. Does anyone remember the name of that game? I want to fap to it again.

So tonight at indoor after we'd won 11-3 a member of the opposition team came up and went all John Terry on me and kneed me in the back of the leg. Now the other team we play happens to have a girl in it and she was the one that did it. I've asked a few people and they're kind of split, but should I report something like that to the police? Like I imagine if I'd done it I wouldn't have got away with it really.
