Why?

Cos he's not what you need?

Coleman is exceptional

There's a list.

Rafael isn't having the worlds greatest season, but he was probably the 3rd best player at the club last season behind RVP and Carrick, replacing him at all is just stupid. The difference in ability between Coleman and him is absolutely negligible (although Coleman is having a far better season), and Rafael has years on Coleman.

I'd be incredibly worried if, after spending all summer chasing Fellaini and Baines, and the one he did get being god awful, Moyes then went back in for ANOTHER Everton player. There's a world of football outside of Everton, and its worrying if Moyes keeps going back there.

He'd also be well expensive, and when we need a left back, centre back, 2 central midfielders and a winger it's a waste of money.

Also, as paradoxical as it sounds, even if we're supporting Moyes I don't like the idea of giving him carte blanche to replace our best players on a nonsensical whim. It's disappointing enough that the likes of Hernandez and Kagawa will leave in favour of Young and Valencia and the football has regressed.

Hopefully its nothing more that paper talk.

He's also just signed another former Everton player to a long term deal

Liverpool lead chase for Barcelona shot-stopper Victor Valdes

Is this for real? Somehow I doubt it... I mean, he surely is after big wages and although an improvement over Mignolet, I don't think he's worth it...

Well, I think Premiere League is more attractive than Ligue 1 and if we qualify for Champions League and meet his wage demands could be a possibility.

But as I said, even if he comes he is bound to have one of the highest wages in the team (up there with Suarez) and even if he's free I don't like it.

Which in turn says it takes it info from Spanish paper Sport. Have no clue about these papers (or any paper for that matter ) but anyway I don't take it as a fact. It's simply speculation at this point... which can turn out to be true and that's what worries me.

Guillem Balague has said Morata has agreed a move to Arsenal in the summer although we haven't agreed a fee with Real Madrid yet. He's very keen for the move to happen, apparently.

I think he got the Mata to United story right, but by the point he picked it up Mata had basically signed.

I reckon our lad Mikel probably was as well informed about Spanish football as Balague is, maybe if he put on a Spanish accent he might get a job on Revsita

Annoying though he is, he was pretty quick with the Mata story. He was writing about it for AS early on.

He's still a cock though.

I'm still wondering about our down payment on Falcao, I hope we got it back.

(yep, I'll keep bringing this up whenever Balague is mentioned )

Yeah, but the Telegraph broke it and then they all immediately piled in, I guess he has enough contacts to check that they were confident with it, my point is with that one that after it was broken it was pretty clear that there was something to it.

It's a good move for him, he'll be well suited to Italian football these days.

I can see some sense in it. For Sagna it's simple, he gets a pay-rise, a three-year deal and a good chance to win some silverware. For City we need a reliable back-up right-back but also need to strengthen several other positions, so whilst his wages will probably be larger than most of the alternatives, the fact we wouldn't be paying a transfer fee could come in useful for when we're trying to sign a defensive midfielder, a centre back or Luke Shaw. Lastly, his age arguably works in our favour, we have a number of talented young right-backs and signing a younger player would make it harder for them to get their chance in a few years time. Sagna would be a good signing for a few years before leaving at the time we'd be expecting one of these young players to be making the step-up to the first-team squad.

It also works as a Machiavellian move, weakening Arsenal is in City's best interest, even if Sagna would add very little to them.

Yeah, I suppose that doesn't hurt City either.

I disagree about Sagna not adding much to City though, if nothing else, the simple fact that he's fit and able should enable Zabaleta to maintain a higher standard of performance, because for most of the last two seasons we haven't had a proper back-up for him and as a result we've run him ragged. If it carries on like that then sooner or later it's going to catch up with him and his performances will - understandably - suffer.
