Looked like the green boot nicked it, Coutinho never complained.

Great start so far.

Coutinho hit the bar and Ramsey had a goal disallowed.

I don't see why we just don't score for Liverpool to stop all the effort we're putting in to give them a goal.

Should be 1-0.

Good save Cech though.

Calum Chambers is fast becoming the worst defender I've ever seen in an Arsenal shirt.

Wow how was that 0-0. What a poor poor second half from us, just invited Arsenal on by booting it back to them straight away. Will take the result though, still some shitty defending but more luck than last year.

Mignolet saved Liverpool. 3 great saves. Especially the one on Giroud's shot!

Giroud showing us why we need a top quality striker and Theo showing why he's not a striker. Please Wenger spend some fucking money.

Girouds chances were hard to be fair to him, had he not slipped hed have probably buried the one. Thought both teams were shit with the final ball

He didn't slip he just fell over for no apparent reason. Özil, Cazorla & Alexis looked completely baffled as to what to do when there's no-one penetrating

On who?

The only remotely available striker is probably Higuain and he's awful.

Its the same problem we've got.

I hate Higuain but we have to gamble. Giroud is a great back-up striker, Welbz is the second best option ffs.

I'd literally spunk 45m on Cavani and gamble Wenger being able to get him back to Napoli form

On a side note I just met Ian Wright and I'm absolutely buzzing

I don't think Cavani's worth that nor available for that.

I'm leaning towards thinking Lukaku would be a good buy for both of us. Raw definitely, but as good as other options around and his physicality gives us both something we lack. If his technical game develops, and both LVG and Wenger would see to that I think, he'd be one of the worlds best.

I'd much rather him than Kane.

Lukaku is bang average and always will be. He's too poor technically to ever progress and it's like expecting Sanogo to become a half decent player. The only reason he was rated so highly as a youngster was because he was about 2 ft taller than everyone else in his age group. He hasn't got the ability to play for a big club.

I don't think thats true. He's never going to be Messi, obviously, and is never going to be renowned for his technique. But he shows glimpses of technical ability every time you see him play and he undeniably scores goals. He has spells where he's absolutely unplayable, and its not just because he's a battering ram.

It's hard to remember because he's been around for forever but he's sill only 22, I reckon he'll be back playing for a big club again by the time he's 25.

I really like Lukaku, I think he'll be a great player. Would be hard to get him, £28M Everton paid and they'd want a bit of a profit.

Yeah but he scores for a team who plays the ball constantly in front of him. That wouldn't happen at City, Arsenal, Chelsea or United. His first touch is awful and he's yet to play back-to-goal really. It'd be a massive risk for any big team to buy him given that he hasn't shown the technical ability required to slot in. Chelsea getting 28m for him was daylight robbery.

Similar players to him have moved to City and Liverpool this year I wouldn't say either are significantly better than him at the minute but the amount he'd cost, given how much Everton paid for him, is why its been Bony and Benteke that's moved instead of him.

I do agree with your assessment though, he needs to improve both those things - and his hold up play too - but to suggest he can't do that is just weird.

For arguments sake, we're going to be using Fellaini this season in the exact same role that Lukaku would be used if we signed him. I don't think Fellaini is technically much better nor as good a goalscorer, so I'd argue Lukaku would already give us more.

Bony & Benteke are much better on the ball than him though. Both great at holding it up whereas Lukaku is more of a steam-train that runs in straight lines.

It's different for us because we actually need a good footballer but can also finish. We need someone that offers something totally different than Giroud but isn't as anonymous as Walcott whilst not being as bad as Welbeck

Lukaku is the only fucker worth taking from Everton.

Imagine paying £50m for Barkley/McCarthy/Stones/Coleman.

Seeing as Giroud seems to have his best games against us, I'm surprised they've benched him today.
