I am not good at this sort of thing but I will try.

First you have to make sure you can see the hidden files in Windows…….you may know how to do this

My files were 

Windows/users/info/appdata/local/programs/newgan

Delete the Newgan folder there. This worked for me

Same for me . Apparently everyone has lost their newgen faces 

You,need to delete the app and re install it. You also have to delete all,of the files associated with it , that includes the hidden files it creates 

I asked above if anyone actually gets this idea to work on a consistent basis?

I know Jimmythecop above seems to but is there anyone else as I am running into one issue after another.

As Jimmy pointed out above Newgan 1.31 just freezes and wont work after a while. For me it was actually the second season. So after my second youth intake Followed the above instructions again and tried to use the Preserve feature. Tried this 3 or 4 times and it just froze.

So googled and yeah its a common issue, and the solution is to delete 1.31 and all of its files and install 1.21.

So I did this. First season the software worked a treat, all of the newgen faces worked. Big test would be after my second youth intake…..followed the same instructions and this time used the Preserve faces and it worked. Excellent, I thought i was on my way.

Third youth intake , followed exactly the same process and hit the Preseve faces and it froze. Again I have tried it a few times and all it does is freeze.

So I decided to try it on my newgens at my club as there are only 62 as I wanted to eliminate the fact that there may be too many newgens (34k) to replace. Same result…..it just froze. 

So I can use the generate faces no problem at all, the Preserve is fraught with issues. So every season I can use the tool to get faces in my game, but I jave to accept that my existing newgens will get a new face. I mean its still better than the cartoon character newgen faces in the game …..but it is a bit of a spoiler.

Also the CTRL + A select all feature is vert hit and miss, like it can take numerous attemots for it to actually select all of them. I am doing it right arent i? They are both pressed at the same time?

The trouble with these facepacks is they add so much to the game that I am not sure I can now revert to playing without them, so I would love to hear from people who are using them succesfully.

Is there another way of selecting all of the players? The CTRL + A is a lot hit and miss

I do wait as instructed but I have to try it well over 10 times for it to work.

When it does work it is very quick , ie a few seconds ……..

That does not work either, after googling this it appears to be an issue for a lot of people

I had these amazing newgens in my game for one season….I need them back :-)

Thank you I downloaded it , however for some reason it wont open. its the same issue I had with v3

A bit of googl searchinh today lets me know I am not alone. I have no idea how to get it back operational again. Thanks though

This is why I ask on here has anyone used this sucessfuly season after season.

Where can I find NEWGAN 1.2 as a google search did not help me.

Ah its not just me , apparently this only works for one season.

So I have managed to get my real player faces back by deleting the Newgan installer and the relevant files associated with it.

I have now freshly installed the newgan app , but it won’t open. I have tried doing as suggested above but it still won’T open 

Has anyone actually followed the above steps successfully to do a new batch of regens ?

I was sure I had followed them word for word but clearly not.

HELP!! 

Well I have had a disaster, I have replaced all of my real players with the Newgen faces.

I followed the istructions a couple of times as above and it just kept freezing as shown in the pic below. So I tried again. Still the same result. 

Then I thought maybe it was because I was asking to preserve that was what was taking so long. So I dropped down the generate button and started the process.

I knew that my newgens would have a new face …………..but it has replaced my whole game with new faces.

How do I go about undoing this as I cant play the save I have now with these faces.

Ok so I can just overwrite the files ? 
it’s a bit confusing . Or do I have to create a new file ?

Ok so now going to have a new youth intake , how do I do this again?

Obviously the files are all set up 

I don’t want to lose the faces I have so are their instructions to do this for the next year and subsequent years 

I tried to follow the steps above but got scared as it looked like I was going to overwrite a file 

Any guidance appreciated 

This is a great skin. I have used the same skin for last 4 or 5 years but I am now moving to this one.

I especially like the match day presentation 

If you have stadium backrounds pack, remove it as this will mean a lot of the screens have a darker background. Player profiles for eg.

I am not sure about a limit on the numbers . When I did it I had just over 13400 new gens and it seems to have worked fine. I did come across one 15 year old who does not have the face , but i assume he may have come into the game since .

When you selected all of the players can you remember how many you had 

Well I managed to get it all set up using the Newgen installer. The video didnt really help as I found it too hard to follow, I followed the instructions slowly and it all worked. What a difference it makes to the game. My youth intake was exciting -🙂

I assume every year I have to do the same process……maybe just set the age in the search to 15 to 16 to avoid a massive list. I had just over 13,400 in this one alone

Yes that makes sense and thanks for taking the time to help. I think my initial rection to this is it may be easier to follow the full process if that makes sense. ie us the NewGan manager tool.

As a novice with files etc to construct a config file would be too much. I also assume I would havt to do that for every player . This would be time consuming, whereas using the full process It only needs to be done say every season. 

I will have to master it in some way as these Newgens are horrendous ;-)

Just so i get this right I am not using the Newgan Tool, i just have the packs in my Graphics folder. Or do I have to use the newgan manager?

So trying to explain a little better. Can I just use the odd face to get them into my game without using the Newgan manager?

Well this went well this morning :-) I wont try to do this again without instruction.

So I tried to just update my Newgens and lost all of my player faces. So had to delete the original facepack and start again. 2 hours wasted  :-)

I thought it could just be  a case of getting the unique ID, then copying a face across to the Mega facepack I have ……………of course it wasnt ;-)

I love the idea of this but I am sure I would make a mess of the implementation.

is there a way I can use the Newgan but just for the players in my team?

This will be easier I would imagine. Is there any instructions or guidelines on how to do this?

I assume that I download the pack, then identify him with the unique ID and then just copy a face across to the faces folder?

Can I just clarify the position when an update is done by FM.

I think I have mine set to not update automatically but I am not sure .

if the update is done am I right in assuming that the name fixes stop working ? I know there is a workaround but nit sure I have the technical ability to do that 😀 . Although lately I have surprised myself 

So if I am in the middle of a save and don’t do the update , it wI’ll continue to work ?

if I am finished with the save I can then do the updates , then I just come back on here and do the process again ? 
 

This has me baffled , I have only done this for the 2400 folder and it is still working for me. I watched some video on steam I seem to recall and tried to follow that and I am sure he only replaced then in the 2400 file. 

Can anyone explain this for me?

Hi , I downloaded this yesterday to use with a new save. 
i notice it was updated last night . What does thE update change ? Can I just continue without updating ?

EDIT I was feeling rather smug as i did this last night and thought I had some it successfully . It appears that I have to do this for all of the three folders 😀 I had only done it for the 2400 folder. Although it appears to have worked for the team names at least 

I have stopped playing Fm23 now as I will buy FM24 tomorrow probably. So I have renamed my FM Folder to Football Manager 2024.

If I carry out the instructions above before I get FM24 will it work in the new game when I buy it? Or would I just have to do it again once I purchase it

A brilliant post , I wish this type of guide was produced for some of the more obscure South American leagues. Great work.

Currently managing in Belgium and I am unable to edit the kits in the in game editor .

I like to do this to maybe edit the change kit or even create a 3rd kit.

is there an issue with this in FM23 ? 

If we are buying FM23 and have no intention of playing FM22 again……I assume I just rename my folder Football Manager 22 to Football Manager 23?
