Shaun Jeffers' Double Grabs Well Deserved Win For Yeovil

http://i.imgur.com/sYG9iK3.png

http://i.imgur.com/6tGGnHx.png

Shaun Jeffers struck a late winner for Yeovil to defeat Adam Boyd's Hartlepool in a close game an Huish Park. Jeffers bagged his first goal of the game to put Yeovil ahead early on before Hartlepool striker Scott Fenwick scored his third goal in successive games.

Hartlepool were second best throughout and would of been disappointed if they were to have left the game with only a point. Hartlepool goalkeeper Trevor Carson was the man to thank for keeping the score down with a great performance but all in all, it was a poor performance from Hartlepool. Adam Boyd will be hoping his side will improve in his side's next game when they host Bristol Rovers.

Hartlepool Prospect Rhys Oates Ruled Out For Five Weeks

http://i.imgur.com/QOhNAcw.png

Hartlepool youngster Rhys Oates has been ruled out for a minimum of five weeks after picking up a thigh strain in training. The Hartlepool striker joined the club in the Summer, before the arrival of current manager Adam Boyd, from Championship side Barnsley. Oates has made one appearance this season, albeit from the substitute bench.

At twenty years of age, Oates stated that he is looking forward to getting over his injury lay off and forcing his way into the first team picture. "I have not played as much as I would of liked this season and this injury is definitely a step back but it won't phase me. I spent last season out on loan at Chester and I always knew that this season would be a tough one for me, especially with the quality strikers we have at the club. But it's a challenge and I can't wait to get back on the training pitch". In other news, there are strong rumours that Adam Boyd has a agreed a new deal with a key member of the Hartlepool squad with an announcement expected to be made tomorrow.

Michael Duckworth Pens New Deal

http://i.imgur.com/8EdEXdp.png

Hartlepool right back Michael Duckworth has signed a new deal at the club until the end of next season. Duckworth, 23, whose deal was to run out at the end of the season has been ever present so far this season for Adam Boyd's side.

Duckworth joined the club two seasons ago from Non-League side Bradford Park Avenue and has been a consistent feature in the side since his arrival. Adam Boyd has this to say regarding Duckworth's renewal: "He's a player who has done brilliantly so far in my short time at the club and a player I was always looking to give a new deal. He's only a young lad and has a big career for himself, It'll be weight of his shoulders as well, as I know what it's like not having that stability in your life so overall, both myself and Michael are absolutely delighted." Hartlepool face Bristol Rovers at home in tomorrow's match.

http://i.imgur.com/jM7hlKr.png

http://i.imgur.com/nGNYkMU.png

Hartlepool and Bristol Rovers played out a goalless draw in a somewhat uneventful match at Victoria Park.

Neither sides mustered much opportunities in front of goal with Scott Fenwick going the closest of the two sides on the half hour mark. Some good work by Brad Walker sent Fenwick through but his effort was palmed to safety by Bristol Rovers' keeper Sascha Studer. Hartlepool are again at home in their next match, this time against Luton Town.

Walker Signs New Deal At Hartlepool

http://i.imgur.com/duhPZ08.png

Hartlepool youngster Brad Walker has signed a new two and a half year deal at the League Two club. Despite only being nineteen years old, Walker has been a consistent feature in the Hartlepool starting eleven for the past two seasons. Walker has played twelve matches in all competitions so far this season, scoring once in the Capital One Cup against Rochdale.

Adam Boyd could not hide his delight at tying down the talented youngster to a new deal, describing the nineteen year old as 'the future of the football club'. "For his age, he's one of the best players in this division and can go very far in the game. He's a player who I am over moon to have been able to tie down to a new deal as he does have a really bright future ahead of him". Boyd's Hartlepool side host Luton next in the league.

Ten Man Hartlepool Battle For Point Against Struggling Luton

http://i.imgur.com/42TUiFY.png

http://i.imgur.com/A5TjMNO.png

Hartlepool managed to gain a one all draw against Luton after an early sending off from August signing Nigel Atangana. Atangana was sent off just the half hour mark after a two-footed lunge, only moments before Craig Mackail-Smith opened the scoring for the away side. Rakish Bingham scored his third goal of the season just after the break to grab a point for Hartlepool.

Overall, Hartlepool will be somewhat disappointed to have only come away with a point, despite the early sending off of Atangana. Scott Fenwick looked to have sealed all three points for the hosts only to be left disappointed to see the linesmans flag raised on the eighty ninth minute mark. Hartlepool next travel to League One side Bradford City in the First Round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy where it is expected that Adam Boyd will play a weakened side.

Wigan Youngster Joins Hartlepool On Loan

http://i.imgur.com/l1Rlkk2.png

Hartlepool have signed Louis Robles on loan for three months from League One leaders Wigan Athletic. Robles, 19, has yet to make a first team appearance for The Latics however had made the bench on two occasions this season. Robles is expected to make his debut for Adam Boyd's side in their match against Bradford City in two days time in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Robles, who has been capped at under 19 level by Spain, started off his career at Liverpool as a youngster and has been at Wigan's Academy for the past two seasons. The young Spaniard stated that he was looking forward to the step up from reserve and youth football. "I'm really happy to be here and I would like to thank the manager (Adam Boyd) for giving me this opportunity. I am looking forward to playing in the Football League and make the step up and hopefully get some goals along the way. Robles will take the vacant number 14 shirt during his stay at the club.
Love it. Great writing and layout. Doing pretty well for Hartlepool also, shame about getting knocked out by Leeds, especially after pulling off a fantastic victory over Sunderland. Oxford and Leyton appear to be running away with the league, but I think you've got a good chance of at least a play-off spot if keeping going well.

What this needs is a bit of Jeff Stelling thrown in there somewhere Just an idea, but thought about doing a little post-match comment by Stelling on his beloved club? His thoughts on the results after the games as may add something a little different/extra also? Just a thought.

Thanks for the comment mate, really glad that you are enjoying. My aim this season is just to try and stay in the league tbh, so anything else is a bonus.

Great idea about the Jeff Stelling idea, that will most likely happen at some point in future... just have to wait and see. Also, thanks to Dan for his continued comments too. More updates will come tonight as I have been way too hungover the rest of the day.

League One side Bradford City are through to the Third Round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy after an injury time strike from striker Devante Cole was enough to beat League Two side Hartlepool.

Hartlepool played a much-changed squad from their recent matches, with many fringe players getting an opportunity to impress. Hartlepool thought they had held on for penalties until former Manchester City youngster Cole, scored from a tight angle past Hartlepool goalkeeper Adam Bartlett. Hartlepool face are back in the league on Saturday as they face Northampton.

Richards Leaves Hartlepool On Loan As Woods Returns

http://i.imgur.com/EUPOwFW.png

Hartlepool midfielder Jordan Richards has joined Conference side Grimsby Town on a loan deal which will see him stay with the Mariners until January. Midfielder Michael Woods had been on loan with Grimsby but has returned to Hartlepool after the Conference side decided against extending his loan spell.

Richards, 22, who can play either in the centre midfield or at right back has seen his opportunities limited this season at Hartlepool and had yet to make an appearance for the first team. The youngster who had come up through the Hartlepool academy will be looking to force his way into the Grimsby side. In other news, it has been rumoured that striker Scott Fenwick is in talks with the Hartlepool hierarchy over a new deal. Fenwick is the club top scorer this season with 5 goals and his contract currently runs out at the end of the season.

Fenwick Signs New Two And A Half Year Deal

http://i.imgur.com/Upk8Gna.png

Hartlepool's top goalscorer Scott Fenwick has signed a new deal with the club which will extend his contract at the club until the Summer of 2018.

Fenwick's current deal was due to run out at the end of the season however manager Adam Boyd has moved quickly to tie the former Durham striker down to a new deal. Fenwick becomes the third key player to sign a new deal at the club after the renewals of Michael Duckworth and Brad Walker. Fenwick scored six goals for the club in his debut season for the club last season and looks set to beat that feat this season as he has already bagged five goals so far. He will be hoping he can find the scoresheet in tomorrow's match against Northampton.

Potter's Second Half Strikes Secures Win For Northampton

http://i.imgur.com/vOGAVdP.png

http://i.imgur.com/sRi07mK.png

Northampton midfielder Alfie Potter scored the only goal of the game to grab the win for the Cobblers against Hartlepool. The defeat for Hartlepool now means that Adam Boyd's side have gone six matches without a win in all competitions.

In a tight encounter, the former Oxford midfielder Potter was the star man, capping off his man of the match performance with a goal. The winger cut in from the right and struck into the far corner of Trevor Carson's goal. Billy Paynter went close for Hartlepool but Northampton held on for the win. Worryingly for Hartlepool captain Carl Magnay was stretchered off in the first half. Hartlepool travel to Dagenham next in the league as they look to end their current bad form.

Captain Magnay Ruled Out For A Month

http://i.imgur.com/MiXdykq.png

Hartlepool skipper Carl Magnay has been ruled out for any time up to a month after twisting his ankle in yesterday's defeat against Northampton. The former Grimsby defender/midfielder has featured twelve times this season for Adam Boyd's side, managing to find the scoresheet once.

Magnay is naturally a right back however has found himself playing centre midfielder this season in Adam Boyd's new look side. The injury will be a big disappointment for Magnay who was currently in the process of learning his new position. Erhun Oztumer is expected to take Magnay's place in the side. Oztumer joined the club in August but has yet to break into the starting eleven and will be hoping to capitalise on Magnay's misfortune. In other news, midfielder Michael Woods will spend a month away from the club in his second loan spell of the season, this time to Conference side Kidderminster Harriers.

Hartlepool Back To Winning Ways Against Dagenham

http://i.imgur.com/nuhAiIh.png

http://i.imgur.com/0woLdyM.png

Hartlepool secured their first win in seven matches after a convincing win against League Two's surprise package Dagenham and Redbridge. Erhun Oztumer grabbed his first goal for the club before a great strike from midfielder Brad Walker from twenty five yards. Josh Labadie managed a goal for Dagenham but Hartlepool held on for a good win.

Erhun Oztumer was only making his second start in the league since his move from League One side Peterborough and it didn't take long for the Turk to grab his first goal for the club. After some great link up play, Scott Fenwick slipped the ball through to Oztumer who fired under Dagenham goalkeeper Mark Cousins. Hartlepool were two up soon after thanks to a wonder goal from Brad Walker. Walker was played the ball by loanee Louis Robles, before Walker struck from all of twenty five yards into the top corner, giving the keeper no chance. Dagenham grabbed a goal back but it was Hartlepool who went away with all three points. Hartlepool face bottom of the table side Barnet in their next match in three days time.

Basement Side Barnet Shock Hartlepool

http://i.imgur.com/N4FBN0n.png

http://i.imgur.com/1v26mos.png

Two late goals from Barnet midfielder Curtis Weston grabbed bottom placed side Barnet a win against Adam Boyd's Hartlepool. Weston had only been on the pitch for five minutes before grabbing his goals to secure all three points for Barnet. Scott Fenwick had put Hartlepool ahead early on in a game which will of been very frustrating for anybody connected with Hartlepool.

Hartlepool went one up after loanee Louis Robles played Scott Fenwick through before the club's top goalscorer calmly slotted the ball into the far corner. Hartlepool were the better team throughout the match however could not make their chances pay with both Louis Robles and Erhun Oztumer missing guilt edge chances. Hartlepool switched off late on and sloppy defending accounted for both Weston's goals. Hartlepool will be hoping to make up for this disappointing defeat when they host Crawley on Saturday.

Hartlepool Send Trio Out On Loan

http://i.imgur.com/3AD3W0Z.png

Hartlepool manager Adam Boyd has allowed three of his first team squad to leave the club on loan. Left back Dan Jones has joined Conference side Grimsby until January, as well as letting midfielders Lewis Hawkins and Summer signing Christian Smith join Southport and Stalybridge respectively. All three will return to the club in January and have the option to be recalled.

Dan Jones is seen as a bright prospect by many at the club but has found himself on the fringes of the first team this season with Summer signing Jake Carroll currently occupying the starting berth at left back. Jones featured twenty five times for the club last season but has only managed two appearances so far this season. Jones will join fellow Hartlepool player Jordan Richards who is also on loan at Grimsby who currently sit third in the Conference table. Lewis Hawkins, 22, has only managed one appearance off the bench for Adam Boyd's side this season and will also drop down the Conference with Southport. Finally, Summer signing Christian Smith has dropped down the Conference North with Stalybridge after failing to settle at Hartlepool.

Roarie Deacon's late cross come shot secured a win for Crawley against Hartlepool in a defeat which has seen them lose back to back matches.

In a match of little chances, Roarie Deacon's effort stunned the home crowd as his attempted cross somehow find its way into the far corner, leaving goalkeeper Trevor Carson flat footed in the Hartlepool goal. Scott Fenwick hit the post late on for Hartlepool as they pushed for an equaliser but Crawley managed to hold on to gain three important points. Andy Barcham's early strike was enough for AFC Wimbledon to grab a win against out of form Hartlepool.

In a match of little quality, Andy Barcham wiggled his way through the Hartlepool defence before firing a powerful effort into Trevor Carson's hand corner. Hartlepool struggled throughout in a defeat which has now seen them lost their last three matches in the league. Scott Fenwick looked lively upfront however did not seem to get the service required from his team mates. Northampton have progressed to the second round of the FA Cup after being fellow League Two side Hartlepool away from home. Hartlepool have now lost four matches in a row in all competitions and will be disappointed not to progress in the cup, especially due to its financial incentives.

Northampton were one nil winners when the two sides met in the league and this encounter was no different. Matthew Bates brought down Alfie Potter in the box early on which allowed their on loan striker Jamie Thomas to convert from twelve yards. Hartlepool have only scored once in their last four matches which will definitely be a worry for boss Adam Boyd. Boyd Issues Warning To Hartlepool Strikers

http://i.imgur.com/1wLrgqW.png

Hartlepool manager Adam Boyd could not hide his disappointment after being knocked out of the FA Cup in yesterday's defeat against fellow League Two side Northampton. Boyd's side have only scored once in the past four matches and the Hartlepool manager has stated that changes may need to be made if their bad run in front of goal were to continue.

Striker Scott Fenwick is the club's top goalscorer with six goals this season however other Hartlepool strikers have yet to find their feet this season. Rakish Bingham has managed three goals, whereas Kudus Oyenuga has yet to score since his solitary strike in the first game of the season against Morecambe. Billy Paynter has only managed one goal whilst Louis Robles and Rhys Oates are yet to find the net this season. Adam Boyd has issued a warning to his strikers: "At the end of the day, strikers are paid to score goals and they haven't been scoring enough. I have faith in my lads but they need to come good soon or I may have to look at letting some of them leave the club".

Matthew Bates Ruled Out For A Year

This is the sixth time that Bates has damaged his cruciate ligaments and their are serious rumours have the defender will now have to retire from professional football despite only being 28 years of age.

Bates has been ever present in Adam Boyd's side this season and is said to be distraught about his injury. The injury was picked up in training when the defender's leg got caught in the ground which saw his leg give way. Adam Boyd expressed his sadness at the injury: "We're all absolutely gutted for Matthew. He has done so well this season and has had so many problems with his knee throughout his career but we really thought he had beaten it. Leyton Orient striker Jay SImpson struck on injury time equaliser to grab a point against Hartlepool. Scott Fenwick had put Hartlepool ahead before Michael Baudry headed home for Orient. Kudus Oyenuga looked to have gained all three points for Hartlepool with his second goal of the season before Simpson nodded home to break Hartlepool hearts.

Scott Fenwick scored his seventh goal of the season early on after some good work from Rhys Oates found the front man in acres of space to slot home. Leyton Orient equalised late on when Michael Baudry headed home from a corner. Connor Smith, who was making his first appearance of the season for Hartlepool then supplied a pinpoint cross for substitute Kudus Oyenuga to fire home. However, Leyton Orient pushed for an equaliser late on and their efforts came to fruition when Jay SImpson leapt highest to head home past Carson. Matthew Bates Announces Retirement From Professional Football With Immediate Effect

http://i.imgur.com/KHMrazW.png

Hartlepool defender Matthew Bates announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 28 after damaging his cruciate ligaments for the sixth time in his career. The injury was sustained eight days ago and Bates has confirmed the strong rumours that he was to retire.

Bates started off his career at Middlesbrough and featured over one hundred times for the side, as well appearing in the Premier League on a regular basis. Bates also had spells at Bradford and Bristol City before joining Hartlepool at the start of last season. Bates was integral last season to the side staying in the league under Ronnie Moore with some great performances. He had made sixteen appearances and was ever-present for manager Adam Boyd before picking up his injury. It is thought that Bates will take some time out of the game before returning to the club in a coaching capacity however this has yet to be confirmed by either the player or the club. In a short statement Bates stated "I have taken the decision to retire from football after suffering another knee injury. I have had a great career but this set back is just one step too far for me. I would like to thank all the fans who have supported me throughout my career".

Fenwick Penalty Secures Win For Hartlepool

http://i.imgur.com/HcjwDFO.png

Hartlepool have won their first match in six in all competitions thanks to goals from Rhys Oates and a Scott Fenwick penalty. Mansfield striker Matt Green had equalised for Mansfield only for Connor Smith to be fouled in the box and for Fenwick to fire home his eighth goal of the season.

Rhys Oates started alongside Scott Fenwick for the second match in a row and it was Fenwick who grabbed the assist for Oates' goal. Fenwick pulled the ball back from the byline for Oates to power home and grab his first goal for the club. Former Birmingham striker Matt Green scored after some good work from Matty Blair on the right hand side but Hartlepool secured the win after Smith was brought down in the box. Fenwick confidently dispatched the penalty to grab a solid win for Adam Boyd's side. Hartlepool travel to Accrington Stanley next in three days time.

Striker Rakish Bingham scored a late equaliser for Hartlepool to grab a point against runaway league leaders Oxford United. Oxford had gone ahead early on thanks to a penalty from Martin Smith after Scott Harrison had brought down the John Lundstram in the box.

Smith's penalty for Oxford was not without controversy as Hartlepool defender Scott Harrison had brought down former Everton youngster John Lundstram. Hartlepool were incensed with the decision as they believed Harrison had won the ball cleanly. However, Hartlepool managed to fight back for a draw after Rakish Bingham nodded home a great Jake Carroll delivery to secure Hartlepool a point. Hartlepool face Portsmouth in their next league match in two weeks time.
