This is the sole reason that I'd want it to happen.
Number 1
Wouldn't be surprised if Mourinho still found a way to complain about spending, though.

Apparently he turned down Newcastle to move there.
Figures.

Giroud > Chelsea
Michy > Dortmund
I don't approve.
BR.
Didn't know that. He'd have been good for you.
Think you'll be able to stay up if you don't sign anyone else? Could you see Rafa walking out?
Number 1
I'm aware some sources have cited he wanted to return to the West Midlands to be back with his family. But its also plausible we refused to pay the loan fee and his wages. Its also not out of the question that given he scores nearly every time he plays us, that it could be one that bites us on the arse.
I think we can squeeze on to the other side, as we've shown we can win games and its a tight league where we're in a potential 3 teams down from 11 fighting to stay up situation. But it'll be an harder task with our Championship grade squad, which seems an unnecessary harder task given we've spent less this season than we did last season in the Championship (albeit from making a profit last year and still spending less than Aston Villa spunked away on their way to a midtable finish). Still, its the Ashley era, so I can't say I'm surprised.
I don't think walking out is likely though, mainly because Its been widely suggested by various sources that Benitez would have to pay £6m to resign.

I fucking don't approve.
Why the fuck are we so okay with strengthening rivals?
Shola
I'd say we're in a perverse position right now - Giving Benitez any money increases the chances of relegation. He'll sign a shite GK and a shit centre-forward - that send us backwards. -Before scrapping it - and going back to Joselu and Elliott.
Should be able to survive - but we have a manager more interested in making excuses than managing a football team....
Rafa's clause apparently expires at the end of the season. So he can fuck off then and go to West Ham or Getafe or whoever the fuck will take him.
chokosc
Yeah it would 100% be wiser for you to sell him to Dortmund.
VP.
That'll sure up our central midfield, whole back 4/5 and goal keeping positions...
Carroll.
Mind you, got to be fairly happy with getting him and signing Ozil to a new deal?
Eric Portapotty
It definitely does lend credence to the theory that we only sign players based on availability instead of actually part of a squad building process.
And seriously fuck selling players to rivals, what the fuck Wenger is thinking I won't ever know, but tbf I think selling Giroud won't be his idea- clearly fucking Kroenke has seen the shite sports back home and thinks seeling to rivals is nothing more than business, the cunt.

What are you on about, Xhaka is the new Xabi Alonso and who needed to keep Szczesny anyway, not like he turned out to be a great keeper or anything...
EDIT: Also if we could hurry up and announce Lucas that would be fantastic.

Personally i think he's a panic buy to try and please the fans with the departure of Sanchez, though I'm still glad we've got him. But give it a couple of months and his confidence will be as low as Lacazette's which will in turn make his career take a big nose dive like most players we sign. Once upon a time Wenger could make an average player good and a good player top class, now it works the complete opposite way around. I really do hope he calls it a day at the end of this season as its clear as day that things are somehow getting worse.
I've never rated Xhaka since the day we signed him, I have absolutely no idea how he even became a professional footballer, let alone a £35m one.

Yeah cracking signing that, esp with Keita coming your way too. You'll have a hell of a midfield
