This file will need to be re-applied if/when official patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official patches come out.
Some of these changes, ESPECIALLY THE CLUB NAMES, do NOT apply in FM Touch or in existing save-games. There's a workaround for that in the first post.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2020 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed, such as Champions League, Europa League and Premier League displaying instead of EURO Cup, EURO Vase and Premier Division respectively. It will also fix the fact that the German and Japanese National teams don't call up real players and that the Bayern Munich and Borussia Mönchengladbach managers have fake names. These are all fully save-game compatible.
There is also a club name changes file, which changes the names of clubs in a way which ensures that any nicknames entered in the default database are retained. This file includes the proper names for Brazilian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian (including Juventus) and French clubs to circumvent licensing restrictions. It also adds real-life media and journalists, encompassing most major footballing nations and continents. Brazilian clubs' text colours are also changed through an editor data file. Finally, it includes a small file which corrects the 3-Letter competition names to correspond with any changes made in the lnc files. For all the files in this paragraph to work, however, you will need to start a new game.

To make sure the files have been applied correctly, go to the Champions Cup and EURO Vase in your saved game, and they should be renamed to Champions League and Europa League respectively. If you are in the middle of a save-game, Japanese national teams will be populated in the next instance that players are called up, and not immediately. Do keep in mind that this file does not add Japan-based players, who are not in the official database and will need a third-party add-on to be created and added.
Club names are only changed if you apply the editor data files before starting a new game. For a workaround if you've already started a new save-game, then please read the opening post of this thread.

You can find these folders by clicking, in the Finder, the Go menu in the menu bar, then choose Go to Folder and type the folder path name (obviously inserting your username), then click Go.
You can get to the Library folder by simply selecting Go from the top bar and holding "alt" key - The Library folder suddenly appears on the drop down
For Mac Lion users, the Library folder will be hidden. Use this link to find out how to show it.
For those struggling to find the Steam and Steam Apps folder etc using Mac with the new OS High Sierra, this link below shows how you can unhide your Library folder which will then let you find the other folders.

When I tick your editor data files the name is Blitar United FC:
Ticked
When I unticked your editor data files the names was changed to Blitar Bandung United FC and it is correct actually:
Unticked
It is showing when I load Club Name Changes in FM Editor:
Editor
Blitar United FC is the B team for Persib Bandung but I have managed to change the name by removing your changes in editor data for Blitar United FC so it's okay now. Thanks for the response @mons !!!
mons
Ah, I see what you mean now. As that is a B team, they don't come up when you search in the editor by UID, for some reason.
However, that issue is not the result of something done in this file, but it's a mistake in SI's data. I'm going to fix it anyway in the next version, don't worry

Looking in the lowest Brazilian league, the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C, the teams featured are those from the 2018 season (14 April to 22 September 2018), not the 2019 season in which FM 2020 starts.
What's going on here? Is this Sports Interactive not updating the current teams, or the Licensing and Real Name Fix applying the wrong names to them?
mons
Can you give me a couple of examples so I can check please? I don't think the issue it'll be at my end tbh...

These are the clubs in the 2019 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C (27 April to 6 October 2019), Group B, according to Wikipedia ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_Campeonato_Brasileiro_S%C3%A9rie_C ):
Atlético Acreano
Boa Esporte
Juventude
Luverdense
Paysandu
Remo
São José
Tombense
Volta Redonda
Ypiranga
These are the clubs in 2019 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C, Group B, in the game:
Boa
Confiança (SE)
Juventude
Luverdense
Náutico
Santa Cruz
São José (RS)
Tombense
Volta Redonda
Ypiranga (RS)
Differences are bolded.

I think I've worked out what's going on.
The twenty teams in Campeonato Brasileiro Série C are divided into two regional leagues of ten teams each, Group A and Group B. The game accurately has all twenty of these real life Série C teams, but does not put them in the correct real life groups - the game places three Group A teams in Group B, and vice versa.
The Wikipedia page on the 2019 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C has a helpful map of where the competing teams are located. I have highlighted the two regional leagues in the maps below, with Group A in red, and Group B in green. The map on the left shows the real life distribution of clubs, while the map on the right shows the distribution of clubs as appearing in the game.
It can be seen that, in real life, Group A encompasses the north-east of Brazil, with Group B encompassing the rest of the country, while, in the game, the division is on a more North-South basis.
I don't know my Brazilian leagues from my elbow, so it's not a big deal. At least it has a logic to it. I think that in Série B and upwards the league is unified again, anyway.

Yep, the mistake looks to be by SI, not with this file.
Thanks for making the file available!

Brazil club names will only change when you start a new career, but Sarri's name should be changed even if you are in the middle of a save game.
It looks like you may have not installed the file correctly. Could you please upload screenshots of the folders you have placed files in?

In the city, club and stadium names lnc I made 5 changes. I edited 4 team names (changed them and removed the #) and added one new stadium name. Now in my current save, the stadium name is accurately changed, however the club names are the same as before. Any ideas how to fix this? I already doublechecked, doublesaved and quit and restarted....
mons
If you have started a save game with the editor data file in place, it will not be able to change entries amended therein through lnc files, due to the way the files work. Changes in editor data files always take precedence over those in lnc files.

mons
Only if the changes hadn't been made in the editor data file already...
MasterM
mons
No idea how that happened. If installed correctly, this file doesn't cause any issues and certainly nothing similar to what you're saying. Do you have other editor data files installed?
MasterM
All other leagues have a star next to them, English only a tick?
mons
No idea what that means. Can I have a screenshot? Also, can I have a screenshot of your editor data folder?
MasterM
So I'd edited some stuff myself using the editor, I unclicked that and it works fine. My edits mustn't have been compatible with this
MasterM
I guess Ill have to re-do my edits....wont take long as I only edit a few things.
Cheers for quick response.
mons
Oh, ok. Given that this download only changes names and not how leagues work, I suspect your edits will not have been done properly rather than conflicting with this download, so best to check them again

Looks like you aren't installing it correctly. Can I have screenshot(s) of the folder(s) you're installing this file in?

I just installed everything and it all works perfectly, but when I opened the files to make a couple of my own changes, it was all just code? How can I make my own changes?
mons
Editor data files (.fmf) are opened by using the pre-game editor, not Notepad.
