Apparently he scored Zambia's winning peno in last year's ACN?

EDIT: So he did, didn't read the article.

Probably the best thing to happen this season, hopefully we follow this up with Walcott.

The second-largest shareholder of U.K. soccer team Arsenal has told CNBC that he is ready to do all he can to help the team and is ready to take control of the club and buy the remaining shares.

Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov currently owns 29.9 percent of the club, after buying former vice-chairman David Dein's stake in 2008 for 75 million pounds ($122 million). But Usmanov has been locked in a battle with Arsenal's major shareholder Stan Kroenke, who has refused any kind of dialogue with Usmanov and denied him a seat on the board, a decision Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is believed to have backed.

"I want to take this opportunity to just reaffirm that in order to help the team, we would be ready to buy more shares, to buy control, to buy all shares," he told CNBC Thursday in Moscow.

"We are ready to do all that we can in order to help the company, in order to consider any form of cooperation or ownership with the team."

Uzbek-born Usmanov said he doesn't want to be a member of the board as it currently stands but it "rankles" him that one of the major shareholders isn't part of the decision making process.

Arsenal, without a trophy since 2005, has faced heavy criticism this season after key players left the club without being replaced with high profile recruits. Results also haven't gone its way, although the team stands fifth in the Premier League and still remains in Europe's premier competition, the Champions League.

Selling star striker Robin Van Persie to league leaders Manchester United was a mistake, according Usmanov, but he confirmed that he wouldn't interfere with Arsene Wenger on transfer decisions if he had a greater say at the club. He also said Wenger "doesn't have enough support".

Reported by Forbes magazine to be Russia's richest man, Usmanov made his money in the timber and mining industry as well as investments in other sectors. He told CNBC it would be his dream to take control of the club and described Wenger as "one of the best coaches in the world".

"If I have big stake in Arsenal, of course I have my opinion about what our team must do," he said. "For example in commercial side, I think there are also many questions about [effectiveness] of the commercial management of Arsenal. But we will see, we will wait. Maybe when I wake up someday I'll have this Arsenal club."

"I want to talk with every Arsenal fan. I am with you. I'm one of you. I'm ready to help the club with anything what I can."

I WANTZ ME A SUGA DADDY

Wonder where he'd be without the injuries. Arsenal would have been better than fifth by now with him on the pitch.
As they mention in the video Diaby reminds you of Vieira.

Unfortunately the chap has absolutely no luck staying fit.
Sod all to do with luck, it's Arsenal's medical department. When Diaby had his own trainer he was fine.
What is the medical department doing wrong then??

Really? That's rubbish. We clearly have a top class medical department, given the size and stature of the club, Diaby's just stupidly injury prone.

Tbf they could be shit at their jobs, I've been lucky to have two amazing surgeons and amazing physios with my injuries.

It's very unlikely it's their fault, could be but as I said very unlikely.

It's just seems unlikely that a club of our size and our stature would have a poor medical team. Diaby's been dogged with injuries throughout his career and I think it's far more likely that he's just one of those players who's had terrible luck with injuries, as opposed to our club staff not being fit to purpose to treat him.
I like Giroud, he shares his whole life with me.

Looking at AC Milan, though, they're a club of an arguably bigger size and stature and they've had a torrid time with injuries the past few seasons too. You'd imagine both are just going through really bad spells of player injuries, but I'd suppose if it happens a lot, there may be something deeper.
Jack Wilshere got a yellow card for this yesterday, a few mins later Wigan's McCarthy goes up for a header with his knees almost head high, and then catches Jack with a sly smack to the side of the head which leaves him on the deck. Nothing given.

A couple of Wigan's players were a little crafty yesterday, McCarthy the worst for it and that didn't help when such a shit ref was in charge. Anyway, i hope Wigan get relegated now

A penalty is a penalty, soft or not, that is not a yellow card whatever you look at it.

It wasn't even a soft penalty it was the totally wrong decision.

Really, well even the Wigan manager called it soft and said that Walcott was simply very clever.

Cos the Wigan manager would get in trouble for saying it was a dive/wrong decision.

Tbf, it looked like a foul from the ref's point of view so I can see why it was given

Then tell me what a 'soft' penalty is then?

A penalty is either a penalty or it isn't, there is no in between.

Of course there is, or else people wouldn't discuss whether penalty decisions are right or not every week.
Carols, with a touch of Arsenal added
