It must be something specific to your PC and/or connection then, because it's work fine for me. In the time it took me to type this, it's downloaded 0.5GB already. Maybe it'll stop in the future, but I'd resume it if that was the case...

Try downloading the file using Google Chrome, which allows interrupted download to be resumed from the point they were stopped.

The folder which goes in the Steam folder if you're using Steam should now go into the equivalent respective Epic Games folder

Download v1.0 and apply it, v1.1 and apply it, v1.2 and apply it and v1.3 and apply it. No reason why it shouldn't work with Epic Games.

It shouldn't take you that amount of time either, tbh, but the issue is not just that the file is very large but that it contains well over half a million files, which amount affects how slowly it extracts. Let it extract overnight

It's an enormous file and it'll certainly take a while to extract, and there's not much which can be done to speed that up tbh. Try and have as few concurrent applications running as possible to focus all the system resources and speed up...
