That's why I don't see all the fuss over the Xbox One and used games. Within a couple years most console games will be downloaded anyway.

If anything it makes it all the more dumb that they've added used restrictions, offer a more viable alternative dont just take away the option to trade games. Besides there are alot of games i wont buy but ill borrow from mates or rent them.

This is now though and not in a few years. Also if you buy a physical copy of something then you should be able to sell it on.

Basic reasoning.

Tbh, i prefer to keep games, trading games in is like throwing money away.

You buy a game for £45, trade it in 1 year later and get £13 or something, pointless.

Because having many sellers is better for customers than one seller.

I really can't see a download marketplace being efficient. Chances are old games will still be priced at £40 or something ridiculous.

You say that but when theres like 4 games you want coming out in a month places like Game offer deals which mean you can play them all pretty much, did it last year and got 4 new games in a month just by swapping them for other games.

Re: The Last Of Us

Really enjoying it so far but i hope that dinny bitch your with at the start dies soon, amount of times ive been fighting one of the infected and she just randomly starts shooting it and alerting all the bloody clickers

Nice of you to earn your reputation on here. I have seen this game being played and it is superb. There is a reason this earned perfect scores from reviewers who refused to give that score out before.

Of course if you like to sneak and hit all the time because thats the only 2 things you do in the game (oh i forgot searching.drawers (so innovative!), my bad, now its THREE things) thats the game for you. Or if you like to superficially judge a game by seeing it being played without playing it yourself.

Go and buy it then.

yawn.

Nah. Metacritic is too flawed and killing a lot of games unduly.

Since I haven't got a PS3 and don't see the point in buying another console so close to the Next-Gen releases in November I've been watching a play-through of The Last of Us on YouTube and it looks SO good. The beginning was so emotional!

I do absolutely.
I am simply not that easily impressed by stupidly doing the same thing all over again in what looks at first an impressive graphic environment but quickly fades into normal mediocre game graphics (the death by clicker scene for example is soo repetative) - boring genre indeed if theres no real innovation apart from nicer looking graphics. Its always the same actions. Boring.
If you are that easily impressed thats fine for you but i am not that easy to impress.

Yawn.

Exactly.
I dont do that anymore cause i find it too repetative and that is not what i want to waste my time with.
Id rather read a proper book outside.
Im still here available to offer advice/service for questions to this game though cause I used to play it quite some time before but that was then when I had too much time and no other obligations that are more important in my life now.

Well, there's nothing wrong with Metacritic itself, it's basically just a website which has lots of review links on it.

The problem is when publishers use metacritic to hold a gun development companies. Some publishers will say if this game doesn't make this score then we're taking away funding or not giving out bonuses or whatever. It ends up encouraging developers to take less risks and that kind of thing. Metacritic hasn't done anything wrong, it's just provides and easy way for publishers to be dicks.

That isn't what KM is alluding to, he's trying to argue that the concept of aggregation is flawed. The only thing I can think he might be using to support this idea was a report that came out saying different websites have different multipliers on them so different scores have a different weight. But that makes sense for the most part, for example if a site uses a 1-100 scale it gives a true representation of the score on metacritic, but if the site uses a five star system, like on Giant Bomb, they can only give 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, meaning their four stars is not as well represented on the metacritic scale.

With that said, it might not be what KM is talking about.

Yeah, the scores are weighted but noone really knows how. It seems to be so that the websites which have reputation for being controversial for the sake of page views don't get as high a weighting as the more "professional" sites. But if it's all weighted the same on each game then it doesn't really matter, it's just so one troll-y website doesn't fuck up all the averages.

Very immature response, as expected.
Absolutely nothing to do with the topic.

Andto answer your question (which in fact reminds me what a 14 year old would ask): no, i dont.

He is partly right. I was alluding to something mentioned here about how Metacritic aggregate scores but they give certain places more weight (some no weight at all) instead of fairly rating games.

*edit* I just saw his second reply.

http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/189448/Metacritics_weighting_system_revealed.php

Adding a weighting to each publication is the only fair way to do, different sites use different methods to score their games so weighting evens up the scores to make them relevant when converted to the 100 scale that Metacritic uses.

For a guy who likes to act wise and thoughtful you present yourself as pretty fucking dim, to the point where it feels like you might have a mental disorder. Meditate on that.

A pity everything you answer me are insults.
I can´t recall Ive ever insulted you apart from labeling you immature (which in fact you prove almopst every time you answer my posts).
But I guess thats some thing which isnt changeable, so my post here is indeed futile already.

Thanks for your advice on meditating but I already do that on a regular basis.
