That was the case many years ago with previous versions of the editor, but that's not how it works now.

 

Editor data files tell the game specifically which fields to change in which entries. So, for example, you might have an editor data file changing Messi's height to 2 metres, and another editor data file changing his club to Altrincham, and they will work together just fine. They will also work alongside a file enabling the Lesotho league and another editor data file making Mike Ashley a sugar daddy. Separate files changing separate things 😉

 

Oh wow that's fantastic, so I just load up the editor, load the latest patch database and edit kit colours and save it off? Then it won't clash with anything and only edits that aspect?

So I noticed several SS Kit packs come with a .fmf file to fix kit colours within the games 3d engine etc but not adjusting anything else so it remains compatible with other data updates. I've been making updated kits for a lot of the lower leagues and noticed they're incredibly inaccurate, but I'm not sure how to go about fixing them within the editor?

 

I loaded the editor and tweaked the kits, but surely saving is saving all the current state of clubs/transfers too? I'm essentially wondering how I can edit the kits and not effect any other update?

Abingdon Town & United home & away kits - England Hellenic League D1 East

(Sadly in-game they have the colours wrong for both away kits, United's are backwards as white with red trim and Town's are strangely white and black. If anyone can tell me how I change that in a small update without effecting everything else, I'll make one to fix the whole division while I work on the rest of the clubs kits.)

So I've made a few missing kits for lower league teams, but how do I create the fmf just to fix the incorrect colours in-game? I don't want anything else changed, just the colours fixed but don't want it messing with other .fmf's installed?

Literally as I'm downloading kits for the first time, this pops up, great job!

Just noticed in my first MLS game that for some reason half of the cup stagesi n Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup are in French now? Fourth Round is called Quatrieme tour and the Quarter/Semi finals are called 1/4 de finale etc. Not sure if anyone has noticed this but it wasn't present before the fix.

Just figured I'd let you guys know that the url needs to be fixed, clicking the Downloads > FM15 Essentials link actually loads FM14, meaning we need to manually change the address in the browser.
